January 14, 201016 yr I tried today to sign up for a membership with my debit card. Unfortunately, I ran into 2 snags. The first is that my bank is CIBC - it is not listed under card type. Does this mean I am not allowed to use it? Additionally I cannot find my CVV on my debit card. If someone who has the same type of card could tell me where I could find this I would be grateful.
January 14, 201016 yr What's CIBC? Is there like a little Visa or MasterCard or Discover logo on the card anywhere? The CVV, IIRC, is that 3 digit number, right? Mines on the back of my card, next to that signature thing. It has the last 4 digits of my card, then a space, then the 3 digit code. ~ Proud Father ~ Proud (Currently Deployed) Army National Guardsmen ~ Proud Lakota ~ Retired Tip.It Crew ~
January 15, 201016 yr CIBC is a Visa card, so yes you should be able to use it. And the CVV is a three digit number usually somewhere on the back of the card.
January 15, 201016 yr Author Alright, I've tried to find my CVV number and I could not find anything resembling one on my CIBC card. Could it possibly be the number that you use evry time you buy something? I have never used my debit card for an online purchase before, which is why I am so confused. And thanks for all of the help so far.
January 15, 201016 yr It's possible, but its a 3 digit number separate from any other number. If it's possible, look on the back for something you can scratch off, it may be hidden for security purposes. ~ Proud Father ~ Proud (Currently Deployed) Army National Guardsmen ~ Proud Lakota ~ Retired Tip.It Crew ~

The number you are talking about is a PIN number, sort of like the banks on RS. The CVV number is a different number, and like others said, is usually on the back of the card somewhere.
January 15, 201016 yr Author The only numbers I managed to find on the back of the card other than contact information go something like this - 123456(H) 12/34. That is the ONLY set of numbers that are on the back that aren't contact numbers.

January 15, 201016 yr You mind if i ask where you live at? I know that cards you get in the states are different then ones you get in Europe or other places. January 15, 201016 yr Check your card for the interac logo, if you have it you can use the method called Insta Debit or something like that. Good luck, I had this problem too
January 15, 201016 yr I've seen it at the end of the card number once, normally there are roughly 16 numbers in an account number, see if you three extra. Also is it mandatory to input a CVV number? I've never seen a credit or debit card not have one but I assume it's possible. If that's not the case I'd just try calling up your bank and asking them or buying a subscription card from 7-11 or somewhere.
January 15, 201016 yr I've tried to use a debit before but I could never get it to work. I didn't think they allowed it

Here's pictures of where to find the CVV on various cards. I have seen those pictures already - it's in neither of those places. I was just searching on where I could find the CVV (on Google) and it lead me to this (forum) page... that's helpful.
January 15, 201016 yr Okay you said this is a debit card, then I would call your bank that issued you the card and ask them where the three digit code should be, or if it even should have one. Explain to them basicly what you are doing and what Runescape is aking of you. I now this has been said so maybe try it. They should be able to help you more than we can.

January 15, 201016 yr When you tried to use your card, did you tell the computer it was debit card or a credit card. Then again it might be the same option. If its not try going back and selecting the other option. Most debit cards I know of can be used both as a debit and credit card.
January 15, 201016 yr This is from the whats this in regards to the CVV: "You must provide the CVV number if it is present on your card.Failure to provide a CVV number will result in your subscription being rejected." My guess would be to try and use it without?
January 15, 201016 yr Author I already have done so. It didn't even bother to go to the next page(when I guessed it brought me to another page, where I confirmed the order, then brought me to a third page which rejected it).

Ok my last thought is this, if you try to use the option runescape card as a payment, one screen has a contact us if you have a problem link. If your bank cant help I guess I would try that and fully explain to them what your problem is.
January 15, 201016 yr Author Thank you for the help. I will try phoning my bank when I get home from work.
January 16, 201016 yr The problems is the cards from Canada don't have that number on them. Its usually only Debit Cards in the States and all Credit Cards that have that number on them. I'm not sure why its like that but thats how it is. One option for you now is to guy buy a RS card from a store, a friend of mine says they sell then in her university, and use that to get the membership. Had this conversation with someone else. We both posted pictures of our cards, well look-a-likes, and we found out that they are not the same. Also sorry for the late reply, i just got home from work. January 16, 201016 yr Just renewed mine with my debit card from Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) Use the CertaPay method, you will need to be set up for online banking to use it though. Call a bank dude and it takes like 5 minutes. Good luck
