Nomad

Right now nomad is the only thing stopping me from getting my quest cape back, my question is, is it even possible to beat him with my stats and if so what gear would be needed to do it. And if not what stats would be the minimum and what gear would I need with those stats to beat him.

Thanks

I don't want to say that it would be impossible at your level, but it would require a lot of luck.

At my levels, which are only a little bit higher than yours, I tried ten times and have not yet killed Nomad. I was using pretty much all the tricks, too. I had pretty good equipment, too:

Armadyl Helmet

Ava's Accumulator

Amulet of Fury

Ruby Bolts (e)

Rune Crossbow

Armadyl body

Zamorak Book

Black D'hide Chaps

Barrows Gloves

Snakeskin Boots

Archer Ring

Admittedly, I never tried switching to melee armor once he started his melee berserker attacks. But, I had an inventory full of sara brews and super restore potions, and a spirit terrorbird full of them as well. I drank a sara brew, super restore, and ranging potion at the bank beforehand. I used the Sap Mage curse. (I also experimented with Eagle Eye and Steel Skin and they didn't work as well.) I perfected the boss fight strategy. I was sipping potions in between attacks, didn't hit any mines, didn't get hit with the 75 attack, killed the correct Nomad clone after only 1-2 attacks from each one, drank brews to above my HP level to survive in case the HP-1 attack and my ruby bolt (e) special fired at the same time, and always restored back to my full range level with super restores. My last seven tries, I consistently got Nomad to around 1-10% of his HP, but got KO'ed by his melee berserker attacks. A few times I even had 15-18 sara brews left at that part, and I still died.

Based on the above, I would predict that you have no chance. But I did do a few things wrong, that, if corrected, would probably let you kill Nomad.

1. I never brought melee armor for his last form.

2. I never tried using my Zamorakian Spear.

3. I never combined 1. and 2.

4. I did not have ideal equipment.

If melee armor is very effective against Nomad in his melee berserker form, then you have a chance of beating Nomad. If you have full Armadyl, a Spirit Shield, Ranger Boots, and otherwise the same equipment as me, then you have a chance of beating Nomad. If you get lucky with a lot of ruby bolt (e) special attacks hitting at once, you have a chance of beating Nomad.

Even without all of that, you still have a chance of beating Nomad, but not a good one.

your stats are just all around too low.

It's hard to put a definite minimum requirement on this. It really depends far too much on luck if you don't have soul split or overloads stacked on your side

war tortoise + overloads + 90+ combat stats is very much doable

I can see soul split being a game winner in itself.

Otherwise i'd recommend you at least get yourself a war tortoise and 90+ stats if the expensive methods don't suit you

a BGS for the initial hit will be of great help. Statius hammer works too. SGS is an okay option for surviving later on if that's your preference.

Bring a ranged weapon for the freeze -> max hit-1 part.

Bring a phoenix necklace or 2 for when you are frozen. That way you can afford to not heal right away and take the opportunity to smash nomad's face in

If you think you can get yourself a unicorn. Summon potions restore special attack points, which can be used with a unicorn to heal yourself. This results in 75% less healing per inventory slot in comparison to saradomin brews, BUT it doesnt drain your stats. This is perhaps a good option if you don't have overloads in your favor.

At your level... Let's see... Your best bet would be to take Black D'hide + zammy spear + brews/super restores. That's it. Take a t bird filled with brews, and your inven filled with brews + super restores. Hope to god you get lucky, lol. Use stab and piety. Also, if you can afford it, take some defense reducing stuff. I suggest BGS or Darklight.

Hiya, I used this guide by Sosolid2k to help kill nomad, it was a good help.

[

That guide is not really any help at all. Anyone with max melees, prayer, herblore, and summoning should have no problem against Nomad. Additionally, he did many things wrong. He should have used magic defense armor for the first part. A beast of burden would have been more helpful than a combat familiar.

First of all, i agree that this video doesn't help tecmaster one bit because of the difference in combat and skill levels.

Secondly, he did not do things the wrong way. He did it his way and succeeded in killing nomad. What he did though is take the unconventional route to reaching the ultimate goal of killing the nomad. He did whatever it took to finish the job.

I meant that he did things the wrong way if he was trying to make a guide. What he did -- using all the best equipment, prayers, and potions -- should be obvious to high-level players who have access to all those things. And lower-level players would never be able to beat Nomad with that setup. He basically made a guide that says, "just do what you always do," which is not really advice. For high-level players, it's just telling them to do nothing different, and for low-level players it won't work because they do need to do something different.

Have a look at shadowstalker's guide as well, he did it with around your level.

If you can make it to berserk mode and run out of brews... then it is all about luck.
