Summoning Potions and Mining Method

Two Questions Here:

1. How much of a difference, if any, is there between using a Spirit Kyatt with dueling rings and using the ardy cape and dueling rings, or perhaps even glories?

2. How much of a demand is there for spirit weed? The seeds are pretty cheap and the herbs are worth a nice amount, but I'm not sure if there's a market for them since summoning potions aren't used that often.

1) Ardy cape and spirit kyatt go to completely different places, so how is this even comparable? Glories will slow you down as less teles per item and they dont go to a 1 click bank.

2) None at all really, 99% of the time you're not gonna run out of a familar and need to replace it in a palce tht is nowhere near an obelisk. And if you do odds are you're at a boss (eg GWD) where anyone worth their salt wuld favour super restores to prayer pots meaning summoning point recharge is covered.

Yes but they are not in a triangle.

Iron triangles are what everyone is after.

You don't really need a triangle. As long as you have 3 rocks within 1 square of walking distance between them, it makes almost no difference.

Other than walking even 1 square eats up valuable seconds which makes any non-triangle spot substantially slower over time.

No it doesn't. There is a delay between when you mine the ore and when you can mine the next one. So if you can move to another rock within that frame of time (which is 1 square at most, you cannot move 2 squares consistently during that frame) you waste no time.

Not true moving takes longer than spinning.

We're only talking fractions of a second, but over time it adds up to whole seconds and then minutes and hours (depending on how far ur mining)

Guys stop arguing the person had 99 Mining i think they know what there doing +)

As for the summoning pots pointless farming Spirit Weed.

As for the spots thing tbh if you want to be 100% use a triangle if you just want to power mine then do as the poster said its fine with one spot in between

I don't think you get what I am saying. Yes, moving/running 1 square takes longer than turning, but regardless of which you use, you spend the same amount of time in between mining ores.

This whole argument is moot. I took a field trip to each of the mines, and the one south of Ardougne doesn't even have 3 close rocks.

Obviously, the Piscatoris one is better, but you still only need 3 rocks within 1 square of each other to reach the max speed.

When I mined at Ardy Monestary, I mined the two rocks right next to each other (the only two that are right next to each other) and then the one right across from it. By time I got the third one mined and walked over to the first...it was JUST ready to mine, sometimes I'd have to wait a fraction of a second. So if they were right next to each other in a triangle, it wouldn't have sped me up any because I still had to wait to mine it.

I found, though, that if I mined on a full world, the first rock would be ready by the time I finished the third.

If you're mining on a full world, only a triangle will do, but if you're just on an average world, then the monestary would be just fine.

But you should always use a full world.

If people are like me, I'm not going to hop worlds just to mine. That just a waste of time for the casual player.

I guess the only real way to knowing is trying out a few runs. I guess on the weekend I'll try a few runs and see how it compares to the triple outcrop at Picatoris.

Using glories will also be an interesting factor.

If you are going to do some tests, could you please tell me the results? I would REALLY appreciate it if you did :), click the link to my mining guide in my signature, and post there. Thanks!

Ooh, a chance to included in one of zaaps's guides? How could I not!?!

I guess I'll do a few runs of the classic 3-rock Picatoris with dueling rings and then glories, and then try out the monastery spot with both types of jewelry. This weekend is going to be interesting

Back to the spirit weed question, there is definitely a demand for them. All those guys that you see outside of banks doing fruitfall or spider egg scrolls are using summoning potions to recharge their special bar.

Prices fluctuate, so I can't say that it's the best herb at the moment, but you'll probably get 100k+ per herb run.

Hmm that is a valid point. Papayas and spider eggs *are* pretty huge right now.

How difficult is it to gather the eggs? Or is it better to sell off the S weed for some irits until I hit 69 herblore? (61 now)
