I haven't done Nomad's Requiem yet, but I should be able to handle it (that and I enjoy combat that isn't just click and wait (the reason I loved Summer's End)), so I was wondering for after I complete that quest -- which would be the better cape? Soul Wars or Fire Cape? Does anyone with experience with the Soul Wars cape know when is best to use each? Will I end up just retiring my fire cape once I kill Nomad?

Soulwars for whenever you are praying, otherwise Fire.

 

Also I'd use Ardy 3 over Soulwars whenever you are using stab (e.g. Zamorakian spear on iron dragons.)

soul wars cape is good when u have to use prayer pots to recharge pray, because when altar is nearby you don't need much pray bonus. It's good to use it when chinning or killing gwd bosses. It's also good if you don't want to risk your fire cape.

Nomads cape is for prayer bonus.

 

Fire cape to max out strength, such as FFA or the like.

 

Skill cape is to show off with, and a general round about cape, with good def and some prayer for the trimmed version.

 

Ardy 3 cape is anyplace you stab, such as corpie, metal dragons, etc.

I'd say go with fire cape even if you're turmoil/praying for the +4 strength if you have the money

last time i did a calculation, i think the break off point was 750k gp/hour? if you make well over 1 mil gp/hour, definitely keep the fire cape

I only use my soul wars cape mostly because i don't own a fire cape for melee purposes

On the contrary, since the soul wars cape has the highest prayer bonus of all, you'd be wearing it to save on prayer pots. If I can recharge my prayer at a nearby altar then I'd wear the fire cape or ardy 3 cape depending on the monster.

it depends on what is more important to you. I'm maxed out on my combat levels so I'd go with saving on prayer pots.

Or maybe upgrading to soul wars cape allows you to use ultimate strength instead of just superhuman, that 5% is probably better then the +4 str. Or maybe it allows you to use 10% str/atk, since it seems you aren't to concerned about prayer pot usage.
