same thing happened to me. i was in lumby, running to zanaris and i got the message, floated in the air, and etc.

i talked to a few friends and they said they got the same thing

That happens when a ghast attacks you in Mort Myre. It's not new. On a side note, I wasn't logged in at the time it seems that the 'strange power' message came to everyone, and I haven't had it since then. If it weren't for these forums, I probably would never have known about it.
