The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)

What ever happened to the war in Mongolia? Maybe Sere could act like a dungeoneering person, and people can alternately PM him for what they want to do, and then he calculates! That would be fun. :P

In other news, the Japanese Imperial Ubercarrier is almost completed. When it is finished, it will have been the most expensive and most powerful warship in the world, capable of holding 100 planes, 50 tanks, a mobile headquarters, dining hall, and can support 2,500 troops indefinitely by itself, assuming that the troops survive to get their rations. The carrier costed 50 billion dollars on its own, which is higher than the 8 billion for a regular supercarrier. There will only be one, and it resides in Japanese home islands.

To Brazil, the annexation of Africa has begun. Hope you don't get stuck in a futile land war with Abbysnia. That reminds me, is Sere controlling it now? Don't make it join the Federation!

Well, Angola shares some Portuguese culture, so I figure it's the most logical place for me to go.

Project M and Project A have begun. An unprecedented amount of funding (10b+ into each) will ensure their success, where in real life they failed.

-Starts looking up failed projects by nation-

-Finds millions of projects-

Doom, you must...join the...tank project!

It's not a specific nation project. Project M should be done in two years, since it's borderline done in real life.

Doesn't almost everyone having a super tank kinda defeat the purpose? But sure, why not. I can put in 5 billion and then donate oil or iron.

flobotst.jpg

Hegemony-Spain

Well of course not.

Hooray, that's good. The current budget for the uber tank project is 35 billion, with oil and iron.

For when it's close to completion, I can donate my defensive tech for the project, since it works well with the uber tank.

Well in this game, it allows you to go farther with things. Your missles will be more effective, armor will be stronger, tracks will be faster, and you can make more of them.

Well of course it's not just "35 billion into tanks, so they own." Of course I'll talk with the other people and see what they'd like in a tank, before submitting details to Sere.

35 billion also makes things go faster. :P

Not really. Most projects don't even cost that much.

And money does not mean that you save time. That's like saying that you researched something instantly because you threw 300 billion into the project.

Well it's not just a tank.

There's a tank, mechanized infantry vehicle, armor upgrades, and other stuff which was still in development. Basically the modern tanks of 2009 are third-generation tanks. The aim is to build a 5th generation tank, with various things which I will PM you soon. Lots of untested and expensive technologies which will be put in.

Think Manhattan Project.

If anything, more money would mean more development and in turn it would take more time.

With a vastly superior end result.

Think Manhattan Project.

You're building a 5th generation tank, and it's only 7-8 years into the future? That doesn't make any bit of sense at all.

Tanks first started showing up in World War I (Brits invented them), and it has taken a century for them to become the tanks that we have today. The only significant developments were digital software being incorporated into them, deflective armor, and better speed.

That's true Rocco, but what makes you think it's even going to be like that? It's a tank.

To Sere, the Federation has those ridiculous exosuit things already in production (to my knowledge). I'm pretty sure a 5th generation tank, which is actually a misleading term (it's basically upgraded 4th generation, since 4th generations were under development already), is much easier to build than something like the picture you showed everyone.

Exactly. To my knowledge, plenty of countries have 4th generation battle tanks. For example, in 2009, the Japanese government was developing a 4th generation tanks as well (now completed). So now the weaknesses of the tanks have to be fixed. For example the RPG defences that you were talking about, that was already implemented. But with research and plenty of money, it can be upgraded. Then there always those roadside bombs which need to be taken care of. If that's done, someone can have another go and invading Iraq.

1. That picture was a joke because I was being sarcastic.

2. Exoskeleton suits aren't ridiculous and are nearly-developed for the United States military in real life.

3. I will have to see your upgrades over PM to determine if it's ridiculous or not. I can't imagine much being done except maybe bringing them to par with US military tanks, making minor speed improvements (which means less armor), and possibly having some software improvements. You might be able to make them safer (like hidden escape hatches), but there's not much you can do.

2. They're ridiculous compared to a better main battle tank.

3. The upgrades haven't been finalized yet. The project just started after all. :P

First part of Project Scatter is complete. The second part will do the following:

Better firing system *increased range*

Improved cooling system *longer firing time, less cooldown*

More powerful munitions *bigger booms*

Decreased loading time *better rpm*

Increased Armor *self explanatory*

Also, project digger has begun.

Particle tank design is finished, currently being tested for another year. Should be a 4th generation battle tank, weapons cooled using liquid nitrogen combined with a backup water cooling system, features the autotargeting system which means the particle SMG will fire upon infantry while the blaster fires upon vehicles and buildings. I'll also be creating a more beefed up version, which is slower, but has an extra SMG and several pistol-based turrets on it.

Exoskeleton improvement continues, yadda yadda.

1.Oh, that makes sense.

2. As long as you can reasonably complete it with 10 billion or so.

Oh, that reminds me. I saw this figure on Wikipedia that says that Turkey has the second largest standing army in the world. I have a feeling that's not right, but it was strange.

Why does he have to complete it with 10 billion or so? You don't even know what he's doing, and 10 billion seems a little excessive.

And the United States is the second largest standing army. It even says so on Wikipedia...

@ Rocco: That's fairly irrelevant. There's no nation on earth that will try to expend every single last person capable of military service before trying to end the war through diplomacy.

SWAG

Mayn U wanna be like me but U can't be me cuz U ain't got ma swagga on.

I meant that his budget should be around 10 billion in total. Of course I don't know what he's doing, but I've been spending 10 billion for everything I've been doing, for example the levees/flood control. Then there's the 80 billion military research, which should be one of the best in the field that I've researching, in the world.

I mis-read the article. It said 2nd largest standing army in NATO, after the US.

Well there you go. You spent 2 billion, and you have 8 billion for the year left. That's not hard to do, and it helps keep it organized. I think it was the year 2013, I wasn't that organized so I spent 150 billion because I kept forgetting my expenses. So I just balanced that out in 2014 by keeping my budget at 50 billion, because it didn't have a big impact on things.

I think most projects cost in the millions in real life, and a very few, large projects cost a few billion.

SWAG

Mayn U wanna be like me but U can't be me cuz U ain't got ma swagga on.

That's true, but most projects eventually cost more than planned, and some are stalled because of lack of money. So if you have more money, logically you can hire more workers to build things faster, and maybe you can go ahead and buy the expensive concrete and stuff.

To Rocco, I think your GDP should be growing at 4% yearly, since your nation is coming out of stuff. But basically take your real life GDP, and multiply it by 1.02 to the whatever power, so 5th power if it's 5 years from when you calculated it last.

According to my calculations, with 2% GDP growth yearly, your GDP is 1.12 trillion and your budget would then be 11.2 billion. I think the year is 2019, right?
