Soul Split or Extremes?

I'm aiming to buy either 92 prayer or 88 herb.

88 herb = extremes (you can make all extremes with spicy stew at 88)

92 prayer = turmoil

which one is better?

I primarily monster hunt. The main things I kill are solo rex, solo TD's, and possibly solo arma.

I would say extremes, but if you're going for 95 for turmoil (mind you, you'd also have soul split by then), I guess you could go either way. But if you're only going for soul split, I would take extremes over that.

But that's just me. I would also ask someone who actually has those stats and uses either one, since they would have firsthand experience.

I asked myself a similar question, and I decided on herblore, for a few reasons:

-Herblore allows you to make super prayer pots, which would aid prayer, prayer on the other hand, does not aid herblore except perhaps the Berserker Curse

-Soul Split and Turmoil have pretty damn decent alternatives. SGS/EE and Piety work almost as well. Not as convenient, sure, but I decided the small upgrade from prayer is worth less than the upgrade from herblore

-Herblore would ultimately cost less if you made the right potions, you also have a PROFITABLE option of training it (cleaning herbs, ~100k xp/hr I believe?)

A warning: Do not rely on stews above +3 to practically make potions. If you need to make a few, ok, but don't trust the stew to make your stash of overloads or super prayers, or something like that.

Higher prayer levels give you more ppoints per ppot dose, so it save you a little bit of money.

Herblore is -20gp/xp at best; prayer is easily -20gp/xp or under. Herb is the more expensive.

At 88 herb, you can make ext att and strength using only greenman's ale. If I need extreme ranges, +4 isn't TOO rare...

Cleaning herbs is very impractical - it's too hard to get grimy herbs

1. Right, I think it was in the mid 90s where you get 23 ppoints per dose over 22. Doesn't save very much money.

2. I believe prayer potions are below 20gp/xp, and also remember you buy 2 items and sell 1, as opposed to prayer where you only buy 1 item. So the more patient buyers/sellers can reduce the cost further

3. It's not too rare, but it's uncommon enough to be impractical to make them in large amounts. You'd go through your potions too quickly, and personally I don't believe it's worth it.

4. Buy dwarf weeds, etc. Isn't hard to buy; isn't hard to sell.
