Ever played Half-Life 2?

I have it, ran okay for the first few areas of the game, but then it started lagging badly. It was a really good FPS based on the bits I played.

I suppose I'd give it: (I am not assuming that 5 is average; rather that most games these days are below 5 in most respects).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Graphics (7) -- good overall, only perhaps not as good in some respects as some other games look.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Monsters (7) -- the manhacks and the fast_zombies are fantastic; the lack of things like houndeyes and bullsquids, tentacles and... well, all manner of other HL1-like monsters (even if they weren't in the story this time) was a shame.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Weapons (6) -- the weapons (bar the gravity gun) are nothing special. The shotgun sounds nice, as does the... I think it's called a pulse rifle or something. The RPG is better this time around (I thought). The gravity gun was great -- shame there weren't as many features to it as there could have easilly been (as shown by the many mods for it).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Overall (90-odd) -- I think very highly of the game (partly for reasons not covered in this sections (i.e. graphics, monsters, weapons)). It's flawed in some respects, but still far better than pretty much anything else available.

graphics 8/10 As long as you have a real good computer there great but dosnt look as great on some peoples pcs mine included :cry: but my friends runs it great.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

monsters 10/10 I love the HL2 monsters and they are one of the things that attracted me to the game in the first place i mean now theres not just zombies or headcrabs theres poisonous headcrabs and erm faster zombies :P

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

weapons 7/10 Nothing really great here except that gravity gun and the addition of the classic crowbar. i also liked how you could cheat and edit how many shotguns bullets you could fire, 100 bullets a shot :twisted:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

overall 9/10 one fo the best games out there and its got good story line and lifespan + HL 2 lost coast has been released and is free for anyone who bought the game although u need a pretty good graphics card to get great graphics. Still even without a good graphics xard it looks better than most games and you get CSS free with it CSS ftw :D

Graphics: 10...THE BEST GRAPHICS I've ever played a game on...And the great part about them is, even on an average computer there's almost no slow-downs. And you can play on Medium-High level of graphics. Overall, when you put it all together they are the best.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Monsters 9.5: Great enemy AI, decent enough monsters. There's enough variety so that you never feel bored. Combines are incredibly cool

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Weapons 10: Gravity gun works by itself, and it has entirely solid weapon combat throughout. Most games have 0-1 trademark weapon, this has 2.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Overall: 98%. There was one bug that marred part of the single-player, and a decent bit in the multi-player. It involved objects sticking together (including you if you got stuck on them) Like one time I took all the items in the level with a grav gun and stacked em in a pile. Then jumped on. And it was like a spider-web. I was stuck, and i'd start to run away and get 5 feet and then it'd pull me back.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Other than that, this game is definately in the top 3 best games I've ever played, and I've played so many PC games it's ludicrous. The story is without a doubt the best in any game (if you look between the lines), graphics are amazing, solid action, amazing production values...Lengthy but not tedious single-player, months of replay value in CS:S and maybe some Deathmatch. One of the best buys I've ever made.

I've only ever played it twice at a friends house. Thought it was pretty cool. Can't say much mroe really because i havn't seen much of the game but from what i did see....i thought it was decent :)

i found out that the headcrabs looks almost similar to the flood of halo 2...apart from the tntacles.

mosnters- 9/10, not good as old ones, but more creative

 

 

 

weapons- 10/10 cool, cuase of pulse rifle

Overall - 5/10, because I factored in the most important attribute, gameplay, which you neglected to include. The gameplay is mediocre at best.

Ive tried the demo, but on EVERY save point my computer just freezes up and I have to start over again...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Oh and I think the gravity gun is the best invention made since man tried to sharpen a stick into a weapon.

Graphics: 7/10 Play Valves new game, Day of Defeat Source. HL2 barely pushed the engine.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Monsters: 9/10 Good AI, they use team tactics against you. And tentacles are all over the place in the game.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Weapons: Nothing special except gravity gun. There are several people who have beaten the game using nothing but this gift of God. The designers left stuff for you to pick up and throw everywhere. Personally, play "We dont go to Ravenholm" with nothing but the GG. Gore city.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Overall: 80/100 Could be better, but it is really fun. Especially the storyline. It's kind of like a Farenheit 451 mixed with other "utopian" movies.
