SportsGuy
How many cannonballs is a reasonable amount to take to a single task of (208) Bloodvelds? Having gotten a dwarf cannon on the cheap and being sick and tired of this task (while not wanting to skip or block any) I'd like to speed things up in the Meyerditch tunnels. I've got about 1k cannonballs, but how long with that last if they fire at such a high rate? Do I need 4 times that? 8 times that? It's not like I won't be able to sell off the remainder, but I don't want to waste my time smithing them (and yes, I have the steel bars and want the meager experience by doing it myself). Kidd_Varrow
Are you going to cannon the regular bloodvelds or the mutated ones? When I got bloodveld assignments from Duradel, I cannoned mutated bloodvelds and typically used a little over 2000 cannonballs per task. I haven't had a bloodveld task from Kuradal yet, but I expect you'll want a few more. 3000 should be enough.
SportsGuy
Mutated bloodvelds...208 of them from Kuradal, so I'll probably need 3k+, I guess. Thanks! Shelby_Polo
Also remember cannonballs had a recent update. You may have noticed that cannons were not always hitting the enemy they were aiming at. The targeting code has been improved and should have more consistent behaviour in all directions.May or may not have an effect on how many cannonballs are used. Suggest a poll for Tip.it - Here! Bloodstain
With 650 cannonballs I killed 30 - 40 last night IIRC
transcript80
I'd say 2000-2500 for the task. Surely, If you can stand the drag of forging them yourself, you can make the extra 500 or so to be on the sure side, right? Other data was removed when acoount got hacked... JoeDaStudd
2k is about what I used last task.A lot depends on how you use the cannon (if you stand under it it will get more per spin) and if your targeting the low hp ones. Ezkaton
I generally go for 10X the task number. So I'd get 2100 cballs (rounded up)..... This generally works for me; however I'd say go with the 2,500, much safer bet. If you wana be safer still and are not sure go with 3K you can always use the excess for annoying tasks like squahs, or another veld one. Reacting impulsively and saying what's on your mind feels oh so good.. for a little, until you realize you just started WWIII.2672nd person to reach 2496 total. Thanks to Wicked for the awesome siggy :D
Codguy
Ultimately, is all depends on your Ranged and Offensive stats. If you had higher stats (such as 90s) versus lower stats (80s), then you'll be using up a different amount of Cannonballs. From my tasks, I generally used up around... 10 Cannonballs per 1 Bloodveld, as Ezkaton stated. Although sometimes I would end up using between 9x and 11x the task number. So you never know. I'd say 2500-3000 for that task.
SportsGuy
Yeah...with 85 Ranging I've killed 109 with about 1750 cannonballs. Certainly, I'm not doing the right thing with it or something. I've got Range boosting gear on and praying melee, but it doesn't seem to be making a huge difference. It's not very cost effective, that's for sure, but TBH, I'm glad that this task is going fast. To me it's worth it, but I certainly don't want to see Bloodvelds every two tasks or whatever. THEN I might have to block it. transcript80
Save cannon balls by finishing off the low HP ones before the cannon hits it again. Might seem a little, but it all counts!
