Youmu
So, I was visiting the forums today. I noticed that using the regular internet loads things slower in general (not to mention imageshack images don't load properly). I decided to use a proxy (not a website one) to access the forums. However, sometimes this pops up: [#2000] You are not allowed to visit this forum. Can someone please explain this to me, and if possible, fix this glitch? Thank you! :) BlogTrimmed | Master Quester | Final BossBoss pets: Bombi | Shrimpy | Ellie | Tz-Rek Jad | Karil the Bobbled | Mega Ducklings120s: Dungeoneering | Invention
Racheya
If you're using one of those proxies that use a different IP address it possibly means that the IP has been banned - since the IP addresses of things like adbots and spambots are banned so you can't access the forum from that IP. obfuscator
Are you using internet explorer by any chance? I've noticed it doesn't like images on this forum, so that could be part of your problem. Gandorf61
(not to mention imageshack images don't load properly) I noticed that too earlier, but it seems to be working fine now. Not sure about the problem with using a proxy though. Pyramid Plunder Guide Tip.it Forum Rules Adventurer's LogThanks to Cowboy14 for the awesome sig! Rainy_Day
It simply means that another person has used the proxy you are using, and the IP address has been banned as such. Unfortunately we won't unban them without due cause as someone else can easily use the proxy also in order to join and cause nuisance. geekdude
On the subject of forum glitches with proxies; I have noticed that hide tags don;t function properly with any type of proxy.
Racheya
It's possible they can't interpret the coding, I think this is especially common with web based proxies. I edit for the [Tip.It Times]. MageUK
As Racheya says, it will be because they don't know how to interpret the JavaScript. A normal proxy (non-web based) would work fine. We do not intend to adjust any of our coding to cater for proxies.
Youmu
I use Mozilla Firefox, but it somehow does not load Imageshack. Also, the proxy I use is not a website proxy, rather a program kind of thing. Hide tags and such still work properly with it activated, so it isn't an issue. Also, the proxy device I use (not giving out the name), it comes from a now blocked website (friend gave it to me). This isn't exactly a "proxy" as it uses a program and you can still type in normal web addresses, unlike the many other types of proxies out there. Ah well, I see the problem is that the IP address has been banned. Gonna have to use a different proxy software then. BlogTrimmed | Master Quester | Final BossBoss pets: Bombi | Shrimpy | Ellie | Tz-Rek Jad | Karil the Bobbled | Mega Ducklings120s: Dungeoneering | Invention
