Bouwzie
Yes, even if you don't get hit, but you still attack, it'll degrade.
skylor12344
i believe its only 15 hours of direct combat meaning you have to take damage for the armor to degrade (but please dont quote me on this because im not 100% sure if this is correct). Mil
"Approximately every 15 hours that you use each item in combat, it will decay totally (this is regardless of whether you are being hit or not. For Example safe spotting using full Karil's set will still degrade the armour pieces.)" http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=barrows_guide.htm#rewards
foursideking
there's a trick to prevent it from degrading though while still getting xp, although it'd take a bit long...trick involves doing combat in a poh with it on, the armor doesn't degrade in peoples' houses, allowing you to theoretically use it forever...little trick i picked up after i completed my first full set of veracs from there...lol

SirIzenhime
15 hours in combat, attacking from a safe spots counts as being in combat. So yes, barrows degrades while using a Halaberd Fisher/Woodcut------Me-----Miner/crafter----Stabber----Leecher ^Golvellius must be so proud^
Zaaps1
As long as you are IN COMBAT (and outside your house, apparently), your armor will degrade. This means if you aren't attacking anything, it will degrade. Likewise, if what you are attacking isn't retaliating (because you are in a safespot or outside its range), it will degrade. ~It's Super Effective!
