zorin1477
Ok, well I used to play Runescape all the time, and I started at some point in 2002 [RSC Days!]. Then my account got hacked and I just decided to call it quits at the time. Not sure exactly when that was, but it was around 2005. (farming was out for a few months when I quit). Then one day I decided to check out the game again. I logged on, and sure enough, I wanted to play again. After a long break, ALOT of things have changed, two new skills have been introduced (both of which I haven't even thought of starting). And a TON of quests as well. Not to mention, the GE, the new pking, man I could go on forever with all of the new stuff I have discovered. Above all, the prices of EVERYTHING have gone up, man when I quit, Santa's were less than 10m and masks were probably around 5mill. And who knows how much new stuff I'm yet to discover. So I'm just looking for advice on how to make some good money, maybe what skills are best for money nowadays, quest's I should do, and maybe some info on hunting and summoning. So thanks in advance to everyone who is willing to help me out, your advice is kindly appreciated. -Zorin [MrSlayAlot]
pulli23
uhm where to start. lol I would say: do all/most quests (especially the harder ones have some amazing rewards lately).Hunting is something you should either like or dislike: it's probably the best money-making skill nowadays though. (after 85) - However you could live *almost* completely without it.Summoning on the other hand is very tied together with other skills: I would certainly open it and start collecting the charms, it's main use is as a supporting skill in combat, however it also has lots of other skills it can support. Import marks are 56 (spirit terrobird - extra inventory), 67 (war tortoise - even more inventory), 69 (bunyip, slayers best friend - slow continuous healing), 79 (titans - healing + defense boost + decent supportive combat), 85 (pony - lots of healing), and the high-level summons. Another "new" skill you will notice is slayer: since 2005 it's been completely redone, and I doubt you'll even recognize it nowadays: however jagex has given it a lot of priority, so it's a very profitable skill. Also a new mechanism you'll need to get used to are the "diaries": basically "annoying little quests", however their rewards are pretty high. My favourites:-Karamja diary 3 (the gloves): the teleport to shilo village is amazing for 50-75 slayer-Seers diary 3 (the enhanced excalibur): yes this previously useless weapon is now something I always take with me: the special not only gives a huge boost to defense but also restores health for 200 points.. Falador & lumbridge diaries are usefull if you would like to farm a lot (they both influence the farming patch south of falador in a positive way).Varrock diaries allow you to earn some quick (~150k) money each day buy buying battle stavesArdougne has a nice cloak with prayer bonus (though it's useless now with the newest quest)Fremenick..... Well nothing really amazing, just some nice small boni. Some pitfall you should try to avoid: don't immediately buy new weaponry: whip+defender+barrow armour is still the best all-round outfit.. Godswords, blessed spirit shields, dragonfire shields, bandos etc are all specialist stuff you should only get once you "settle in". Hope this information can help you understand the game a bit better! First they came to fishingand I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing Then they came to the yewsand I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews Then they came for the oresand I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores Then they came for meand there was no one left to speak out for me. 12pure34
Well, to get you on the way. As for summoning. It is a skill that evolves around ''familiars''. Being that you can use as combat- pets. You create pouches by having the following: 'Empty pouch (1gp) - Charm (of appropriate colour) - Shards (25gp ea and required in high numbers) - Secondairy ingredient (costs cash usually). The charms you receive by killing monsters. Gold - Green - Crimson - Blue. Blue is best, gold is ''worst''. You then need to get your hands on secondairy products which can cost quite a bit. Then shards, which cost 25gp ea fixed and are needed in high volume (40-250), so that is quite a sum. Then the secondairy products can vary from certain feathers / eggs to ''Plant 2's''.. you name it. ALl in all quite costly. Once you reach a level to make a pouch, you're also allowed to use those pouches. You summon a combat pet (familiar) which abides by you for a certain amount of time (2-80 minutes) The time if fixed for all familiars. There are three types:Beasts of Burdens - They act as an extra inventory. In the size of 3-6-9-12-18-30!!!!! So these are much used. Extra inventory rules!Combat familiars - These act purely to fight along your side. Higher level ones do more damage ofcourse and the type of attack (range / mage /melee) varries. Healing familiars - Either by passive healing (1/2 hp per 15 seconds) or active healing (the special scroll ability) All in all, they are EXTREMELY USEFULL. They got special scrolls that.. well :P to much effects tbh. You read up on them on the mainsite. As for the other questions.. uhhFor moneymaking skill always counts Runecrafting. Also Hunter in later levels is also quite profitable. (around level 77 or 82 or so) It is a fast skill! Farming herbs is profitable! Very! Ofcourse killing certain monsters. (dragons) and classical Barrows / Monster hunting earns lots of money. Gathering herblore seconds is a nice way. Using the GE charts, you can get a good idea ;)

K4ylan
Soooooo dificult to fill someone in on what's happened since they left. Most posts on here are about Summoning, and that hasn't even scratched the surface of what you've missed in 5 years. I'd just explore head-on about everything. Ask lots of questions about anything you see, even if you don't understand it.And explore RS Wiki. romu000
Construction skill : build your own house from materials surch as planks from different logs.House delivers some nice helps for your own skilling like you personnal altar that allow you to x3.5 the prayer xp you get from a single bone (with 2 marentil burners lit though)If performs portals for teleports to 7 main location and the ability to make 1 clic teleport tablets (saving clicks and inv space : especially usefull in case of ermergency). That skill is a gold sink since the transformation of logs to plank is expensive. Hunter skill : the skill you track for small beasts arround Gielinor. That skill is an extraction skill thant can be fast. The ultimate beast you will hunt is the red chinchompa (at 63). They are wanted and bougth at nice price by stressed/rich rangers. They are amunitions in multi combat area. It explodes hitting in a 3x3 square arround. So if you use it on multiple and grouped monsters, your get max possible range xp. At high level, hunting those cans be some nice money (4-500kgp/h)Along the beast you can hunt, some very little flying imps are now available and can be hunted too : they are implings and can be good money too. A minigame hold some in a closed area accessible from Zanaris. Summoning Skill : soo many people told about it. This skill grant you the ability, to invoque a familiar (a pokémon ? i'd say almost)....Familiars are usefull in 4 areas : skilling help (with boosts or because of skilling along yourself too), combat (some familiars are strong and helps very well), Healers (they heal you along your fights) and Beasts of buden (they extend your inventory capacity, making gathering faster). That skill is involved in every other skills, making it a revolution in the way you train all skills.Summoning is based on the transformation of buyable spirit shards + pouches with some charms you get from killed monsters and some secondaries. Charm droppers are essentially slayer monsters so Summoning is very related to your slayer training. Though you can go and kill monsters that drop charms out of a slayer task. Minigames : New minigames have been created and i'd tell you to experiemnt each one. Just keep in mind that some holds very rewarding items and are worse the time spent. Wild and pvp : due to a war on real world trading, that part of game has been seriously reviewed. you'd better see it later and after some good reading in forums. People are now very powerfull. Trades : For the same reason the whole process of sell and purchase has bees revamped. Stores have now a dayli stock for each players. friendly trades between players are limited in value so you to block unbalanced trades. You cannont give me 20M gp without i give you 20M value items. Diying : now dying don't let your items on the floor, you can purchase a grave that last from 5 mins to an hour os so if a friends used his prayer points to bless it. It protect items while fighting bosses and block un balanced trades with death. In PVP worlds (old wild-like specific wilds), droped items are random. Their value are calculated from many critierias surch as the value of the items you risked, the time you spent there in danger area... Make X : For almost every skills jagex brought a Make X/make all in dynamic menu. example : Smith X bar at furnace. So, the games don't hurt your wrists anymore... but it also block high speed click players. All in all it makes the game hurtless but more lake a click and wait skilling... Grand exchange (GE) : added in Varrock, that area is where every player ends : to buy od sell their goods. it is a cross servers trade platform where every tradable thing can be bought/sold. Prices moves from the trades done in random periods from 4h to 26h length. you can offer + or - 5% of middle price. trades and their voumes move the prices up and down by + - 5% at each GE updates. Of course some items are manipulated by people and groupes but also by Jagex who can put corrections on some prices. Bosses : Strong bosses and monsters have been cerated with awesome drops. If old bosses are still there they are now deserted or at best soloed for the fun (not the rewards anymore). Now most of those are protected by quests and also by skill levels. The power of the rewards makes their price... and the fortune of the lucky people who got them.A mechanic have been added for teams that fight bosses to allow to share drops. the team is connected in the same clan chat (yes you can chat with multiple friends ingame). The chat toggles the reward split mechanism from coinshare to lootshare. Coinshare split GE item mid value price in every chat member who get the coins as a drop. IE : imagine a saradomin sword at 10M in a 3 man team CS (coinshare) .... they all get 3.3M cash as a drop.Lootshare is more complex. only 1 person get the drop and every others have their lootshare potential risen from a portion of the loot value. So, on the next loot, the player who have the best potential get the loot and every other rises. getting the loot drop your potential from the value of the drop.... That mechanism is more complex but nice too if you can manage your lootshare potential (LSP). Lately skills have been modified for high leveled players making the ending levels move rewarding of more easy/interesting to get.Best : herblore with extreme potions and the ultimate Overload. With a +25 lvl boot in the devoted combat skill (and all for overload)... it brought a very strong power to high herblore leveled fighters. it also put a rise on price for herblore related items and a stab in number of people required for bosses.2nd best : prayer with Curses. Reward from a quest, curses are a new prayer tab with strong prowers. But those also require higher levels (last power is 95). like herblore, it raised bone market by far and stabed again number of people required at bosses.3rd : Slayer. high slayers can now fight tough monsters that drop high value items making the end of the skill later than the whip. The top highest slayer master has also it own slayer dungeon where only slayer task can be executed. So that area is free of monster campers... fot the win of both player types. Some great things are thought to come too since the player are now very powerfull... and since the stronger monster of the moment can be soloed.Well, i think i resumed in the very large lignes the game évolutions.... i hope you'll see it went his way and some people are still playing the game that was promised to crash so many times. I wish you try to find your way now, just don't be too stressed to get the best items in the shortest delay... all comes when you are ready. Oh baby light the dark side...
