pulli23
Well I'm wondering: what is the best way to kill steel dragons? - without super antifire potions, god sword/armour, or dragonfire shield access (with ring): My relevant stats:att: 86str: 90def: 89hp: 91range: 88mage: 83pray: 72 Options I have in mind:-melee with whip + anti dragonshield (no prot pray?)-melee with broad sword + anti dragonshield (no prot pray?)-range with broad bolts + void-range with black dhide-mage with chaos gauntlets + fire bolt-mage with fire surge I don't mind loosing a bit of money (as long as it's manageable, like 1M) and I have to kill only 75 of them.. Thanks for any advise,paul23 First they came to fishingand I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing Then they came to the yewsand I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews Then they came for the oresand I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores Then they came for meand there was no one left to speak out for me. Zaaps1
You mean steel DRAGONS, you said steel titans in your post :P The best way to kill them is to skip the task :) or better yet, block it. But if you are adamant on doing it, the best method is Leaf-Bladed Sword. ~It's Super Effective! Aiel
Id go with LBS+antidragon shield, prayer is basically required here, with a unicorn, 99 def and max def gear, I cannot tank them effectivley, just bring ppots antifire pots and sup attack+strengths. DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers ringsQBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow partsCR vs. CLS threads always turn into discussions about penis size....It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty). Ezkaton
I found that whip is comparable to LBS on steels. And with your str and att being that high you'd probably have better results with the whip. I tried LBS for ages on tasks and then started using the whip. on LBS I'd average a full tort and bank before I needed to renew, with whip I can do 2 trips with the 1 tort. But s'up to you. And Zaaps, why so hating? :P They're actually a fun and decent task in Kuras dungeon. Oh and Pulli, as Aeil said, you can't tank them. The only way you can do that is with Extremes, 99 Def, Uni, and Soul Split. I watch people struggle doing it with anything less when I'm on tasks. pulli23
Well I want to kill them because I dislike the idea of being able to skip task for such a relative low "price". Anyways: if I go meleeing, what kind of familiar would I take best? - Simply a fire titan (highest familiar I can take)? First they came to fishingand I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing Then they came to the yewsand I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews Then they came for the oresand I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores Then they came for meand there was no one left to speak out for me. The tort allows you to make back alot of the money that you'll lose praying. It's also more efficient because you don't want to have to bank only killing a couple of drags. I can kill about 30 before I need to bank with a tort which is epic, and I make ~500K+ from the task. So not too bad. I most definitely recommend it! But no war tort would not last an entire task. I'm not too sure what familiar you can use then as Steel Dragons are not in anywhere multicombat...... Or do titans operate on the same basis of a cannon in single combat? Anyways, if you can then cannon them in high wildy I'd say is the next best option. However again bones would be essential to make anything back. Your choice :) Reacting impulsively and saying what's on your mind feels oh so good.. for a little, until you realize you just started WWIII.2672nd person to reach 2496 total. Thanks to Wicked for the awesome siggy :D
Zaaps1
And Zaaps, why so hating? :P They're actually a fun and decent task in Kuras dungeon. I never liked metals. Steels are the second slowest slayer task (before Miths, but those are assigned in such small numbers I might as well do them) and they never give me anything good :( ~It's Super Effective! qeltar
In Kuradal's dungeon, using Turmoil and extreme potions, you can do an entire task of steels in under an hour, turning a tidy profit. That's faster than many other tasks. NastyJenny
You should mage them with Fire Bolts, and a Terrorbird as familiar. And BANK the bones, there is no reason trying to make a slow task like this a tiny bit faster.
Goldenjkered
I usually use whip + anti dragonfire sheild. The speed and the extra strength bonus kind of make the whip about the same as a leaf bladed sword. I usually just go for prayer bonus then, so proselyte top and bottom etc with anti fires, super attacks and super strengths. RangingRoy
I love fighting steel dragons! I actually enjoy fighting them. They are ridiculously cheap and easy to fight. Take a couple of pieces of food, 12 anti fire pots, 7 range pots, 1k broad bolts and whatever gear you want. You can poison them if you want. Aim to kill 2 per dose of potion. Remember your alching runes.
