mithril dragons

Hi,

Well I got my first mithril dragon task (ever) now from kuradal.. Only 6 of them though :P

What I am wondering is: what is the best set up to kill them?

I don't own really any "good" equipment, and have only 40M in bank.. -So yes I could buy armadyl + a full slayer helm.. However I'm doubtfull if that's a clever move.. Is that equipment so much better than void in all cases? - Wouldn't I be better off -for slayer- to buy something like amulet of ranging + dfs?

Also: should I aim to beat those 6 in 1 go, or rather split them up (2 * 3)? - And use either terrorbirds, war tortoises or bunyips?

First they came to fishing

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing

Then they came to the yews

and I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews

Then they came for the ores

and I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores

Then they came for me

and there was no one left to speak out for me.

wait youve been slaying without a black mask? and you think a dfs is somehow helpful for slayer? I cant really help you with the mithril drags question without knowing your stats though.

DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers rings

QBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow parts

CR vs. CLS threads always turn into discussions about penis size.
...
It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.

I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty).

Well when I said I lack any high level stuff I ment also prayer/herblore..

Anyways:

86 att,

90 str

89 def

91 hp

88 range

83 mage

72 pray

83 summon

65 herblore (guess super antifire isn't possible with boost is it? ;) )

@aeil: Who said I didn't have a slayer helm? - I just haven't taken the time to buy a focus sight/hex crest yet. Would've waited till they crashed to the sub 1M barrier. (Since they are the same idea as black masks, and the monsters who drop those will in time probably be more often be killed).

wear karils with antidragon shield, and LBS slayer helm, dboots, glory/fury, etc. pray melee, spec with EE if you have it, dds if you dont. Bring 1 dose of super set (no def) w/ antifire per kill and 1 ppot per kill, flicker piety, use titan for healing.

I don't think the Melee method is the way to go for him. No super antis, no awesome Prayer, nothing to warrant the bother really.

Get a full Slayer helm.

I'd recommend:

* Full slayer helmet

* Armadyl chestplate > Black d'hide body

* Armadyl platelegs > Black d'hide chaps

* Ranger boots > Snakeskin boots

* Archer's ring > Anything else

* Rune c'bow

* Ava's accumulator

* Antifire shield ~= Dragonfire shield

* Amulet of fury > Amulet of glory

* 50 ruby bolts (e) and 50 diamond bolts (e)

Equip ruby bolts for 50% of its HP, then switch to diamond bolts.

In inventory:

* 1 Antifire potion (should suffice for a task of 6, bring 2 if you have crap equipment)

* 1 Ranging potion (take doses same time as antifire)

* ~4-6 Prayer potions (depending on whether or not you use Eagle Eye)

* 6 Sharks/Rocktails

* Enhanced excalibur

* One-click teleport

Bring a bunyip and depending on how you enter Kuradal's ring, Lunar/Dramen staff or Games Necklace (or nothing).

They're not too tough.

There's an extensive mithril dragons guide on my site, but it's in the members area. You can sign up for a full month for a penny and then cancel if you wish, if you have a CC or Paypal account.

In lieu of that, a brief summary.

First, unlock the fairy ring in the Ancient Cavern. Use a ring of slaying to Rellekka, jot west to the fairy ring and go to Zanaris; head to the bank.

Equip the following, or substitutes as relevant: god mitre (or helm of Neitiznot); Ardougne cloak 3; amulet of fury; leaf-bladed sword; Karil's top; DFS or anti-dragon shield; Karil's bottom; Barrows gloves; dragon boots; Berserker ring or whatever you like best.

Inventory: dramen or lunar staff, ring of slaying, stack of house teleports, 4-dose antifire, 4-dose super set, 4 4-dose prayer pots. Summon a tortoise and fill it with decent food like monkfish. Put more monks in your inventory, and a few cheap food like salmon.

Set quick prayers to Protection from Melee and Piety.

Go to the ring in Zanaris and dial in BJQ. While standing in the ring, take 1 dose of each pot. Put on protection from magic and run to the mith dragon stairs. Snap on quick prayers and kill the dragon. Between kills pick up drops and top up health and prayer.

When you are out of supplies or your inventory is full (use the tortoise of course!) hit your teletab, recharge prayer at your house and repeat (but you should be able to do 6 in one trip.)

I second this.

That is, unless you want to piety with lbs, but I personally would avoid that if I did not have a soul wars cape, use the 5 or 10% range prayer or leech defense.

Anti-dragon shield is better than dfs while ranging/maging and damage is not that much of a concern because of the -5 penalty from dfs.
