Mage training arena good way to train mage?

Featured Replies

I'm getting my mage up to level 90 so I got all combat styles L90 or higher.

But I wonder whether getting B2P-spell is worth all the efforts.

I'm not planning on making-selling them myself.

I just think it's a nice spell for own usage for later when I go aviansies or whatever.

But I just noticed after 30minutes I only got 75 alchemy points and I need 3k :unsure:

That'll cost me alot of time and the XP is less fast than alching items or other mage training way.

Some advice plz?

2017 goals: get at least 3 more master capes (start xp: invention done@21st Jan, mining done@2nd April & ranged 76/104mil done@June 20th) & all skills +40mil xp (done 24th August)

Get it if you want it. IF you ge it once, you nver have to get it again.

Yeah lol, I know that too. I just wonder whether it's a good way to gain mage XP. Because it's slower than alching, I also lose the runes but don't get cash in return :(

I personally don't like the mage training arena. It' slow and bores me. There are better methods (for example superheating) that are much better. So in my opinion don't use the MTA.

GWD Drops: (Bandos: 1x Hilt, 1x BCP, 2x boots)

MTA is decent training and it's not very expensive. Bones To Peaches is a reasonably useful skill for slayers. It has become less useful with the onset of Bunyips, the SGS, etc., but it is still worthwhile and a cheap fix at tasks like Dust Devils where bones are dropped.

I would do it; it's a good unlock to earn.

Is superheating profit when you buy the ess/craft nats & mine the iron yourself?

Yes. Even if you buy everything else you lose very little. Sometimes you even profit.

EDIT:

Pure essense = 142

Iron ore = Free

Coal = 560

Total supplies = 702

Steel bar = 1099

Profit per bar: 397.

Nature rune = 264

Iron ore = 259

Coal = 560

Total supplies = 1083

Steel bar = 1099

Profit per bar: 16.

Ok then I guess it's better to craft alot of nats now.

My membership runs out in 25 days and was planning on getting my mining to L90 in free (it's close too 88 now)

but since powerheating is possible in F2P too (if I remember correctly?) I might save the heating time for then? :)

Thx for the answers guys, very usefull!

I don't think you need 3k alchemy points. It's probably 3k enchant.

Anyway I was averaging about 55-60k xp/hour down there. The most annoying part, the Telekinetic Theatre, recently was improved. You can now run while the statue moves. This made it a lot more tolerable ;)

I personally wouldn't bother getting bones to peaches. The points you spend on it could be spent on infinity robes which are worth a good amount. The amount you'll "save" by using the spell instead of tabs is nothing compared to the opportunity cost of infinity clothing.

I agree. The advent of tabs make B2P relatively worthless, and you'll make money if you spend your points on infinity.

I had no idea that they updated the Telekinetic Theatre. That was always my least favorite part, too. I might have to go back now.
