I just did Tears of Guthix and it did not go against Dungeoneering, which is definitely my lowest skill (only 25). Bug or on purpose?

Jagex always makes it so new skills can't be leveled with tears of Guthix, lamps, etc, for about two weeks after release.

 

When you go back to do Tears of Guthix next week, it should work towards dungeoneering.

Forget the dialogue, Jagex mentioned it when Dungeoneering was just released at the bottom of the page.

Also, using free-xp boosts on dungeoneering makes you miss out on the tokens that are only way to get the rewards from this new minigame.... Sorry "skill".

Reminds me of my brother after he (*ahem* meaning I "helped" by ya know undoing the bolts swapping the batteries and doing the bolts bk up*ahem*) changed his car battery and the clock in the car reset to 24h mode (had been on 12h), hes had the car for like a year now and has apparently been "trying to ages to find out how to do that"

No, but at level 30 xp/tear is capped at 60xp.

True, but tbh I'd rather not train it at 500xp/h right now, use peng points/TOG on it to get it to a more decent level, then train it at a more reasonable rate and I wouldn't be missing that many tokens in the grand scheme of things. If your goal is to get a certain item as fast as possible, then yeah, but you wouldn't be missing it due to the penguin points/TOG, you'd be missing it due to the fact that you're sacrificing many hours of potential token earning in order to start at a faster token earning rate. If you just took the total time you spent in the dungeons though, you'd get to X tokens much faster though.

 

Also, I agree that this is more of a minigame than a skill, but that's for another thread ;)
