OhBeWise
This post is to refer to the Dungeoneering Guide, Second Ferret Puzzle Tip.it guide. Up until yesterday, I was completely stumped by this puzzle, failing utterly at it. Consulting the guide, it reads: Second Ferret Puzzle - Trapping Chop wood from the walls to construct traps and set them on the ground. Run the ferret toward the traps while avoiding the white holes. After making traps of various level, placing them all over the Ferret's room, and running myself ragged after the Ferret, I was beginning to lose hope. However, I found a happy little solution by mistake and frustration. Just as the ferret enters one of the "white"/green holes in the wall, click the desired "magically sealed door" and it will grant passage. Having two locked doors in the ferret-room, I repeated this process. The doors were always locked when the ferret was standing still. But I could pass through the doors when the ferret entered a hole. The various traps I had set on the other hand, never caught the ferret. He simply ran through them, whether they were placed on, next to, or away from a hole, or even when placed on a random space or the ferret's ending squares. Case 1: I'm missing something and trapping incorrectly. -If so, help would be great.Case 2: The ferret unlocks the door momentarily by entering the wall holes. -Guide update may be needed. If anyone has succeeded in capturing the ferret, please let me know how exactly this must be done. Otherwise I'll just keep being sure to time my clicks on the door in sync with the ferret entering the wall. Thanks!

Profins
Of various levels? You need to make the traps from the wood that grows on the wall in that particular room, just as mentioned in the guide. Everything is OK with the guide, I've done that exactly and it always worked for me.Suggestion: Put it next to walls as the ferret likes to hug walls. Kilo
If you know where to stand the ferret will stop next to the wall directly north of the corner hole in the lower left section of the middle of the room. It's probably a lot easier to use traps, but this way is faster if you know what you're doing. I probably didn't explain it very well, but if you went dungeoneering with me I could show you. Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.Oscar Wilde

Everything is OK with the guide, I've done that exactly and it always worked for me.Suggestion: Put it next to walls as the ferret likes to hug walls. "Various levels" was just referring to the tiers of wood in the dungeoun. Though I'll admit, I haven't payed close enough attention to notice any wood in the ferret room itself. Thanks for the tips! I'll have to watch more closely next time. I guess as a side note, anyone unable to catch the ferret could still get through the doors using the method I accidently found. [Edit] Just played a Dungeon where this puzzle came up and i saw the wood you spoke of. It's harder to see than the normal wood on the walls, but the trap worked instantly and makes traveling through the room much more convenient than my accident method. Thanks again! Perhaps a note to new Dungeoneers on the guide would be useful, letting them know the trap must be made exclusively from wood in the room and not just any wood. It would be a minor detail, but would help clarify just that much more.

la la la
This seems to be a bug, and while it may work, we don't put bugs in our guides as solutions to puzzles. Thanks anyways for the submission.
