April 27, 201016 yr I'm pretty sure they won't. Another option is to remove them from your friends list and put your private chat on friends only. I KNOW they can't see your online status then. But I'm sure the ignore list works the same. :)

If they have you on their friends list, and your Private is set to On, then they'll see you are online, however, if they try to send you a message, you won't get it. They won't get a message, it'll appear to them as if they've sent you a message, and you're just not responding.
