So in my Computer Graphics course we were assigned to make a piece based on song lyrics. The first song that came to my mind was

by Muse, since the lyrics have such impressive imagery. While this was a sketchbook-only assignment, I liked the song/concept so much I decided to make a tag based on it :P

 

 

The section of lyrics I based this on were:

It resonates the core,

Creates unnatural laws,

Replaces love and happiness with fear...

 

Hopefully this one actually looks as good as I think it does :lol:

Know who has impressive imagery? The man with feasible rhymes that you can vision and feel. Conducted and formed, it is a hell of a concept.

You know what MK ULTRA was right?

Of course. But rather than base the tag off of that conspiracy, I based it off of a song named MK Ultra. It would be kind of weird to make a tag for a secret government project o.O

But of course the song was named for the project.

 

Either way, cool song, cool tag, and how did you make it?

Made a gradient for the background, made that core by making a circle then using some epic layer styling (mostly gradient/outer glow/inner glow). Then I duplicated the core a couple times and used the glass filter on the original. Then on the copies I made them larger, reduced their opacity and smudged them. Then I made a few streaks of light with the pen tool, then did a bit of image adjusting to make it look kewl. That's pretty much it.

 

It was mostly, "okay, these lyrics are kinda cool. I'll use the whole core resonating thing as my theme." Then I just messed around from there.

Haha really? When I first saw the thread title I though you based the tag off of an acid trip haha. It really does resemble an acid trip.
