Level 140 Living rock Striker

Featured Replies

Please add the following information to the current listing of the Level 140, Living Rock Striker (http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?rs2monster_id=1336):

Normally, this NPC will just melee you if you are close to it, but if you run away before killing it, it will range rocks at you.

The Level 120, Living Rock Protector does not range, and the current info is fine, but the Level 140 will definitely range you!

Interesting. Are you saying they are like dark beasts in that they won't range you initially, but only after you begin fighting and move away? I thought they could always range you.

Erm they range you from the off.

They are a big issue when mining down there in a quiet world if you get ur run routes wrong because they continue hurling rocks at you.

Yes, my experience, so far, has been that they only range once you break off the fight and run away.

They do not range before starting a fight.

They only range if you are out of melee range otherwise they melee. And they will start a fight with range.

DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers rings

QBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow parts

It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.

I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty).

I want to say I've been ranged right off the bat before...

I definitely have been as I have been mining down there on quiet worlds since lvl 86 mining (almost 91 now) with auto-retaliate off and I have been ranged straight away without even going within melee range,

I want to say I've been ranged right off the bat before...

Thank you for that. I stand to be corrected. I guess that hasn't been my experience as yet, as I've been mainly down there for melee xp, with mining being secondary.

Either way, it would be great if the current listing could be updated to the fact that the Level 140s do range rocks, as this was not there before.

Edit:

I see now that this has been updated already, but perhaps the new info should include that the Level 140s can range you if not within melee distance as well, at ANY time.

Sorry for any confusion.

Thanks very much for the submission. The database lists the Striker as aggressive - it will auto attack even if you do not engage in a fight with it first. The information has been added to describe it's ranged attack. I'm going to close this, but if there's anything else regarding this, please don't hesitate to PM a crewbie.

We appreciate your input!
