I don't think so, since equipment doesn't matter when it comes to the cannon, only your range level does.

It has been confirmed that equipment attack bonuses affect your cannons accuracy. The attack bonus that affects your cannon's accuracy will be whichever style of attack you're using; if you have 200 ranged bonus using range you'll hit very often, if you have 200 crush bonus but 0 ranged bonus while using a crushing weapon the range will play no effect in your accuracy and you'll hit just as often as if you had 200 ranged bonus using ranged.

im not sure, but doesn't the focus sight have a bonus on your range level? if that's the case, then it helps.

That's rather odd, didn't realise the mechanics work quite like that. My initial guess based on those mechanics would be that focus sight doesn't aid the cannon, but of-course I could well be wrong! As far as I'm aware though at a reasonable ranged level minor bonuses to a cannon don't have a very noticeable effect.

Yes, Focus Sight does give a boost to cannon, both to damage and accuracy. I can't give you a source, but I know many players on these forums have confirmed this.

I remember seeing a test a while back that confirmed that both your range level and range bonus affect the cannon's accuracy, but to my knowledge the max hit from a cannonball is constant.

 

So by that reasoning, if the focus bonus is applied to your range level, then yes.
