meb
It doesn't take much effort and it helps a lot of people out. I wouldn't spank my monkey with a nurse waiting till I'm done but why not? Retired 2146 overall - 136 combat - 6 skillcapes Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks. Usually people who use sperm donations to have children are lesbian couples or couples where the male is infertile/sterile. As long as they're born in a decent family that loves them then why should it matter who their biological father is?

As long as they're born in a decent family that loves them then why should it matter who their biological father is? Where did you get that information from? The documentary I saw about it showed that most donations are a single-mother condition. But that was only in 1 country so I can't say if it's the same for the rest of the world. Anyway, even if they aren't a majority, they're far too many to ignore- what about them?
Romy
Law: I'm pretty sure it's legal... Oh, I meant law for the anonymity part. And for the reasoning behind it (for and against)... And for what it should be like, and if there should be any changes...
Danqazmlp
I see no problem with it. The parents can have a child which i guess they would not have had. The child has life. Want to be my friend? Distracted
In my very humble opinion, if a mother would opt for sperm from a donor, she most likely really wants a child and will take good care of it. The child may never know who his real father is, but he will get a good childhood, in most cases at least.
Romy
I don't think we can judge how growing without a father really is without first experiencing it. The children in the documentary seemed to care about it too much to say the least...

The children in the documentary seemed to care about it too much to say the least...They watched too many "happy family" movies. Life shouldn't be drastically different with only 1 parent or 2 parents of the same gender. They (hopefully) still go to school, get at least 2 meals a day, and have somebody that loves them. The children in the documentary seemed to care about it too much to say the least... I'm interested in this documentary you saw. Did it just follow a few mothers that took sperm from donors or what did it do? Well, it was mostly about the quickly growing number of donations and the results of all that. It showed 10 different families with mothers that received sperm donations. Some of the families reached the kids' brothers and sisters. One of them reached the father. It was mostly shocking. It also showed some scary statistics, and experts' predicted statistics aswell. Kind of felt the injustices the children are living through

They chose to get pregnant with donated sperm so they decided themselves that they were both emotionally and financially capable of raising a child by themselves. RpgGamer
Sperm donations are an awesome enitiy in this world. Everyone wins! Guys get paid to masterbate. Couples who incapable are having kids, can have kids. Bloodlines can be saved. 'Clones' can be made for the aske of science [not actual clones, there'd still be a surrogate mother]. Stemcells can be harvested. And everyone is happy. I've actually been meaning to look up where my local clinic is, cause I wouldn't mind getting paid to pleasure myself furiously. And from what I hear, the pay isn't half bad. Quote Quote Anyone who likes tacos is incapable of logic. Anyone who likes logic is incapable of tacos. The Dark Lord
Bloodlines can be saved. What use is it if you don't know which bloodline it is? It would be hard to trace the bloodline to a specific family unless there was some huge DNA database. Anyway, I guess they could at least determine (albeit roughly) what type of ancestry the child has, which would be a step toward finding out who their father was. stevepole
I think it is great for those who can benefit from it but if I don't know if I would ever donate my own sperm because I would feel weird knowing some person(s) is raising "my" kid.
