detoid9
Hey all! Does Tip.It really alch every single item to get it's high alch values? I feel sorry for the guy who had to alch his devine if that was the case! If not, is there a source for this information from Runescape.com itself? Reason I would like to know, as a while back I worked on this: http://forum.tip.it/topic/244271-web-developer-in-need-of-alch-prices-and-more/ A high performance PHP G.E. crawler and indexer. It turned out better than expected, and I had a bunch of fun with the information I gathered. But I am still wondering if there is a better way of collecting alch prices. It has been some time since I worked on that PHP crawler and I have better technology and knowledge to work with, and would find it fun to make a even better one with http://nodejs.org/ or Ruby on Rails. Any answers or opinions are welcome! P.S. If you want me to develop any custom solutions for this site I am more than happy to, for free as well. I have had past experience in making custom modifications to I.P.B. installations, making web apps etc. Pure Account: Mrs Destiney -> 82 Attack, 83 Strength, 12 Defence Tank Account: Cyez In Lumb -> 70 Range, 64 Defence. PM me in game anytime It's a lot easier then that for an idiot to sound smart on the internet. That's exactly what you're doing right now... just saying. No its not. That is the items GE value. The whip alch value is 72k, but the ge value is about 3.8m
Crimsonsmash
don't know if this is still the case but it used to be that:low alch value=general store's base (0 in stock) buy price, high alch value=general store's base (1 in stock) sell price, and general stores had fifty per cent markup. you could thereby determine an item's high alch value by checking what the general store would buy it for and then multiplying it by 1.
Serpent Eye
For what it's worth, we do hi-alch A LOT of the items in order to find out their alch values. This holds especially true for quest/holiday items that you are otherwise unable to trade/sell to shops. If you happen to run into a Crew member in-game on a day when new content is released, it isn't unusual to see us wielding a Staff of fire so we can get these values. :P The low-alch value is then automatically determined based off of the hi-alch value. :)

So my only options for collecting this information is either to a.) crawl a item db like before (I forgot which help site I crawled last time), or b.) team up with a RuneScape Help Site and piggyback off their database. From memory, crawling a site completely saturated my internet connection, so piggybacking is the preferred option of course :) Pure Account: Mrs Destiney -> 82 Attack, 83 Strength, 12 Defence Tank Account: Cyez In Lumb -> 70 Range, 64 Defence. Saradomin_Mage
If you offer a tradeable item to the General Store, the price reflected will be 40% of the Item Value. This figure is the Low Alchemy price.High Alchemy is 60% of the item value, so it's just the General Store's quote times 1.5 In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.
