  1. I was re-arranging my inventory and while the key was on the ground somebody reset my router. By the time the reset finished and I was able to log back in it had disappeared.
  2. @Kroketten It's very doubtful that Jagex would do anything to help @Pingouin7 Get past low to medium level monsters (highest is lvl 46 black knights, lvl 26 poison scorpions may also be a factor), defeat lvl 51 Jailer twice (once to get a key for you and once for me)
  3. Due to an unfortunate drop out in my internet connection I have become trapped in the adventurer's cell in the Taverley dungeon. Is anyone willing to bring me keys to get out or lumbridge/varrock teleport runes? I have been graciously freed.
  4. The easiest (and best) solution is to go to [qfc]25-26-919-62871712[/qfc] on the Official RuneScape forums and follow the instructions there. You will be using some bash script and a terminal command (don't worry, it's all copy & paste) to convert the Official RuneScape client into a Mac app. I have been using it for the last couple of weeks and it runs great; probably even better than it ever did in any of my browsers.
  5. There are 10 coal, 8 mith, and 3 addy rocks on Crandor. Mine all the mith and/or addy and then mine the coal and use it superheat your mith/addy ores while you wait for the mith/addy ores to respawn. Once you inventory is full, bank and repeat; when you've got your desired number of bars you can the smith them into items to the sell or alch. With the current price of nature runes you can make a profit with almost any item you smith this way. I don't know if this fits your "quick" criteria but it certainly fits all the others and if you get bored you can always mix things up by killing a lesser (or mossie) or two.
  6. The bestiary lists all of Night-gazer Khighorahk's drops as p2p only but the Bathus Plateskirt, and likely the other f2p plateskirts, drop in f2p as well. Sagitare, Shadow-forger Ihlakhizan and Bal'lak the Pummeller have all their drops listed as p2p only as well and, while I cannot confirm it at the moment, I suspect that the items available to f2p players drop on f2p servers. Finally, Lexicus Runewright's entry lists the Salve, Blightleaf and Roseblood hoods in both the f2p and p2p section and, like the previous bosses, has f2p items listed as p2p only drops. [spoiler=Proof of F2P Bathus Plateskirt Drop]
  7. I don't know of a specific fix but you could try updating and/or rolling back your Java or if you just wait 30-60 seconds it usually resolves itself.
  8. Happens to me all the time, I think it has something to do with my Java. Are you by chance using a mac?
  9. The cooking calculator and planner both contain several dungeoneering potato entries in the F2P only section. [Crew Edit: Thanks for the correction! I've fixed this so that they only show up where they should. -TecMaster532]
  10. In my experience Mac OS X does a very poor job of creating NTFS partitions. You'd be better off making an HFS+partition for Time Machine and leaving the rest as free space and then using windows to format the free space as NTFS.
  11. The short answer is yes. When you first get the hard drive it will be formatted as either NTFS (Windows compatible only) or FAT32 (Windows and Mac compatible). Windows XP and above read and write both natively so no problems there. Macs, on the other hand, only natively read and write FAT32; if the Mac is running the latest version of OS X (version 10.6, Snow Leopard) it will also natively read but not write NTFS. If your not going to be using the drive for "large" files (4GBs or more), and the drive isn't already, just format the drive as FAT32 using a Windows PC. If you want to use it for "large" files, you'll have to format it as NTFS (using Windows) and install MacFuse and NTFS-3G (both are free) on your Mac in order to be able to read and write the NTFS partition.
  12. don't know if this is still the case but it used to be that: low alch value=general store's base (0 in stock) buy price, high alch value=general store's base (1 in stock) sell price, and general stores had fifty per cent markup. you could thereby determine an item's high alch value by checking what the general store would buy it for and then multiplying it by 1.5
  13. If you want to be able to play RuneScape in ALL detail levels you have to get a Windows PC; as of Feb. 8th 2010 standard detail is only supported on windows (safe and high detail modes both still run in OS X). There is also a 30-60 second period between when you log in and when you can start to do anything when playing RuneScape on a Mac. (I believe this to be an issue with the OS X Java) That being said iMovie is way better than Windows Live Movie maker although you can probably get a comparable Windows machine+decent video editing software for the price of a Mac. I still say get a Mac, I love mine. Some general advice: -get at least 4 Gigs of Ram, this is a must for all video editing -get a computer that has a discrete graphics card -a bigger screen makes for a nicer editing experience -if you can afford it, a Solid State Drive (SSD) can really improve editing/rendering time for long video but, you'll be sacrificing storage capacity -if your thinking of working with full 1080p HD video, STOP, machines that can handle that much video cost thousands of dollars, 540 and 720p still look really good and take a lot less power to work with
  14. I'm glad you liked my ideas, after I posted them I kinda felt like I was hijacking your original concept. I also realized that I forgot that there is also two types of helms and so full helms should also require 2 bars to buffer. Rereading your original post I also feel that 3 hours of PvM or 15 minutes of PvP combat is to little. Perhaps 5 hours PvM and 30 minutes PvP would be more suitable. Also, maces, like warhammers, should probably be buffered not sharpened. As for the issues of Dragon and Black I see two possibilities. 1) Limit sharpening and buffering to smithable items only, after all they an are addition to the smithing skill. 2) Black items could be buffered using two steel bars (3 for for kites, plates and full helms), Dragon could be buffered with two rune bars (3 for kites, plates and full helms There is still one armour/weapon type that hasn't been considered. White. It has the same stats as black accept that it also gives a small prayer bonus. If black is to be buffer/sharpen-able I believe that White should be as well. This would not effect it's prayer bonuses. I apologize for my excessive input, smithing and melee combat just happen to be two of my top three favourite things in RuneScape (magic is the other).
  15. I love this idea. I do have some suggestions/comments/opinions though. -Buffering platebodies and kitesheilds should require 2 bars. -A buffered war hammer should have a slower attack rate. -All buffered items should weigh a little bit more. -As buffering/sharpening wears of the bonuses it provides should also decrease. (ie. after 1 hour of combat a honed weapons bonuses would be 2/3 that of an unused weapon) -There should be a limit on the number of times a weapon can be sharpened. I suggest 5. -Having a limit on the number of these items that can be banked seems silly. -Ranged weapons/ammo could be sharpened if you increase the number of scraps required to make a bar to 5. A failed sharpening would result in 1 pieces of scrap. Sharpened ranged items would be one time use only. -Failed buffering should result in scrap (2 per bar) instead of lost bars.
  16. if your router has adjustable antennas you could also try pointing one in the general direction of your room
  17. just to let you know you've got the wrong symbol in your suggested equipment. should be > not < ie. reads as Armadyl chesplate is worse than Karil's leatherbody which is worse than black dragonhide body which is worse than [cabbage] what you want is which means Armadyl chestplate is better than Karil's leatherbody which is better than black dragonhide body which is better than [cabbage]
  18. try clearing your cookies. you do this in the safari settings in settings-->safari
  19. It was not at all my intention to label anyone; the title "Haters List" was simply meant as a friendly hyperbole. I am truly sorry if it offends anyone and will gladly change it if it does. While I'm posting I'd also like to acknowledge that there have been legitimate points against my ideas and that, while I do respect them, I see no reason why I shouldn't offer my own counter points and explanations. Lastly I'd like to present that RSC is a game in its own rite. Its code-base, game-play and overall experience are completely different from that of the modern iteration and treating it as such makes perfect business sense as it allows Jagex to regain the lost patronage of those who quit when RSC was discontinued.
  20. A little bit of clarification. Mercifull and Xx_Flare_xX seem to be a little confused about the proposal. I'm not suggesting that we split members into RS2 and RSC components; the proposed options would be available in addition to the current plan. Also, Mercifull, please note that not all current payment options need be available for these new membership models. In response to Paw_Claw, I would bet anything that there are plenty of (ex)players that have no interest in playing the modern version of RuneScape but would gladly pay three dollars a month to be able to play RSC again. wingwinder: I challenge you to find anyone who can survive playing RuneScape 24/7 for any significant length of time, as your 696 hours a month implies. For those who are wondering, here is how I came up with the durations and prices for the timecards. Here it is. (2 hours of play each weekday+10 hours over the weekend)*4 weeks in a month=80 hours a month one month membership costs ~$6.00/month, add $1.00 and you get the price for an 80 hour card* price of a 40 hour card=(price of a 80 hour card/2)+$0.50** price of a 20 hour card=(price of a 40 hour card/2)+$0.50** *I wanted the timecards to be slightly more profitable than a monthly subscription for this "average" play time. **As with most similar systems, the less time you buy, the more profit is made. To expand on what quelmotz said, I intended the timecards to be an easy way for people who want to moderate their playing time (or for parents who want to limit that of their children) to do so. To depresins, if it's ok with you I would like to add your idea to the proposal (fully credited of course).
  21. Proposal For New Membership Types 1.0 – Table Of Contents [1.0] Table of Contents [2.0] The Proposal [2.1] RSC Membership [2.2] RSC+ Membership [2.3] Timecards [2.4] Summary [3.0] Change Log [4.0] Supporters [5.0] Haters 2.0 – The Proposal With the reintroduction of RuneScape Classic to members' accounts, the current membership model is in need of an expansion. The current model is an all-inclusive plan providing full access to every RuneScape feature, which was fine when there was only one version of the game, but now that Jagex is serving two versions, it is time to expand the options. What I am proposing is the introduction of RSC only memberships and a timecard option allowing players to pay according to how much they play, rather than on a monthly basis. It is important to note that in order to implement these proposed RSC membership plans two small changes would be made to the current RSC model; RSC would be open to new accounts at any time and, ads would be placed above the RSC game window. 2.1 – RSC Membership An RSC membership would cost $2.95 a month. An RSC member would have full access to the RuneScape Classic game and be able to post in the RSC section of the Official RuneScape Forums. 2.2 – RSC+ Membership An RSC+ membership would cost $3.95 a month. An RSC+ member would have full access to the RuneScape Classic game and the Official RuneScape Forums. They would also have the ads removed from the RSC servers and be able to bundle their membership with a FunOrb membership at a $1.00 discount. 2.3 – Timecards Available in 20, 40, and 80 hour durations, RuneScape Timecards would be similar to minutes on a cell phone. Costing $2.50, $4.00, and $7.00 respectively, these timecards could be purchased and assigned to an account. That account would then be able to play on members' servers, but not RSC servers, for the duration of the card. A countdown clock would be placed in the game window that would display the time remaining on the card. When the time assigned to an account runs out, the player would be automatically logged out and teleported to Lumbridge, if they were in a members' only area. Timecards don't provide Forum access. 2.4 – Summary RSC membership: $2.95/month, full access to RSC, and access to the RSC Forums RSC+ membership: $3.95/month, full access to RSC, full Forum access, ad removal, and FunOrb bundling Timecards: 20/40/80 hours, $2.50/$4.00/$7.00, play on members' servers but not RSC servers, and no Forum access 3.0 – Change Log [12/10/2009] – Original Post Date [12/11/2009] – Updated Supporters & Haters Lists [12/16/2009] – Updated Supporters & Haters Lists 4.0 – Supporters 0) Crimsonsmash 1) hawkxs 2) belfordrocks (timeacrds) 3) linkzelda30 (-timecards) 5.0 – Haters 1) Mercifull 2) Paw_Claw 3) romy 4) will_homes 5) gioandjack
  22. I'm assuming your using a MacBook or MacBook Pro. In the very bottom left hand corner of your keyboard is key with the letters "fn" (short for function) on it. Hold it down when you press an F key and you'll get the normal F key functions rather than the "special" functions. There is a check box to reverse this key's functionality (ie. press it down for the "special" functions and don't for the regular F key functions) in the Keyboard tab of System Preferences-->Keyboard. <edit> Just looked at desktop Mac keyboards and the exact same function key use and settings apply for them as well.
  23. Whatever you do don't go to Vista. Windows 7 actually runs better on lower end/older hardware than Vista does, and its better. I say get it up to 2GB of RAM and then look into upgrading the OS. I have personally had the Beta and RTM versions of Windows 7 running quite nicely on a similar machine, in both age and components, so I'm confident that it should work for you as well.
  24. Yes, you can upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate from any version of XP or Vista, or any other version of 7, but, as already mentioned, there are very few reasons to go beyond Home Premium an most of them can be duplicated with low-cost, and even free, third-party software. An excellent compairason of all the major version can be found here.
