Several mistakes in various pages

Recommended Posts

I had a bit of time on my hands and I decided to rummage through the guides and pages for errors. Here's what I could find for now:

http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=combat_guide.htm

To the boots section it would be wise to add the F2P security dungeon boots.

To the jewelry section it would be wise to add the (i) versions of rings (from MA) as well as Warriors and Berserker rings.

For Mjolnir section you could add a .gif switching between all 3 types of Mjolnirs as it's been done for similar same-stats-different-version items. (Same for Croziers)

http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=farming_guide.htm

Leprechaun section, you might to upload the version of the screen that is the current one - where it replaces inventory. Also, add information that you can store magic watering can there.

Supercompost: Might want to add that you may use the Lunar spell "Fertilise soil" to have the effect of supercompost.

Allotments etc routes:

Add Catherby teleport from Lunars for routes. Charter too possibly.

Fishing guild teleport from Lunars for Ardougne Patch.

Hops, routes:

Fairy Ring code ALS is a good option to get to the McGrubor's hops patch.

For Yanille, might want to add that you can set the teleport inside Yanille after Ardougne diaries. Also, home teleport if home is set at Yanille is good.

Entrana: Teleport with Cabbage ring, depositing it at the deposit box by the monks is also a quick option.

Fruit trees, routes:

For Catherby, again, Lunar magic's Catherby teleport. Charter too.

Brimhaven: having a spirit tree there, using Karamja's gloves and taking cart to the docks as well as charter are all possible.

Bushes, routes:

Etceteria: Lunars tele to waterbirth/moonclan and taking boat/talking without seal are good options to get to Rellekka, from where you can take a boat to Etceteria.

Specials, routes:

Spirit tree at Etceteria: Read Etceteria Bushes

Spirit tree at Brimhaven: Read Brimhaven Fruit trees. Same for Calquat.

Bittercap Mushrooms: Slayer ring teleports to Slayer tower nearby.

http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=firemaking_guide.htm

Training tips. Likely best spot would be GE.

No longer willows would be more GP/XP efficient than Maples for F2P.

All the tips about 100 sticks to access Teaks/Mahoganies ought to be removed as they're accessible elsewhere - Ape atoll, Chompy Hunting Grounds and probably other spots, but these 2 are the best.

For 70-99 magic logs are an option, rather than yews if you're rich. Yews would be for..moderately rich :P

http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=ranged_guide.htm

Jewelries, (i) rings from MA should be added.

ANYWAY..I just quickly skimmed through skill guides for now. I do not guarantee I did not miss anything, I will also be skimming through other pages, such as minigames (Omgactivitieswat), general guides and such, but this has taken me a while as it is, so I'll drop a post later. If you do not wish me to make a new topic, don't close this!<3

[hide=Original Post]I had a bit of time on my hands and I decided to rummage through the guides and pages for errors. Here's what I could find for now:

http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=agility_guide.htm

"Note also that you can use boosters to be able to cross obstacles or enter courses which require 3 to 5 levels higher than your agility level. See the boosters section of this guide."

With stews that's 3 to 6 levels higher. Those should also be added to boosters section.

Cowman Edit: I'll have to discuss adding the Stews to other guides. For now I will hold off.

[hide]Penguin course:

"The course is located in the penguin's outpost, on the iceberg, in the Lunar Sea. There are several ways to get to the iceberg; the quickest option is to fairy ring teleport just east of the boat using code DKS, or you can teleport to Rellekka using an enchanted lyre or house teleport (if your house is in Rellekka) then walk northeast to the boat."

Rellekka diary's rewarded boots can also teleport you to Rellekka.

Cowman Edit: Since you still need the lyre to do it I won't include this.

[/hide]

[hide]It's also worth adding to Wilderness course information about Brawler gloves adding 4x xp or 1.5x xp on other courses within PVP & BH worlds.

Cowman Edit: Added

[/hide]

[hide]Information about Circus XP should be added at Tips&Tricks.

For the Excalibur you might add information about enchanted excalibur, as it has higher stats and a better special attack.

For the same section, Flail of Ivandis ought to be added (below Rod of Ivandis I guess).

[hide]For whip you might want to have information about colouring it with BA.

Speedyshel Edit: Added whip colouring info to the guide.

[/hide]

http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=crafting_guide.htm

Silver section, you ought to add "Silvthril Chain" for Flail of Ivandis. Gives 100 xp but requires a mithril bar.

Boosters, spicy stew should be mentioned.

Cowman Edit: Again, I need to reach an agreement with the Crew about these.

http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=herblore_guide.htm

[hide]Secondaries, where to find:

Chocolate: Lumbridge chest should be a massive mention due to the stock of 300.

Cowman Edit: Added

[/hide]

[hide]Tips:

The herblore shop's owner, at Nardah, can decant your (4) potions into (3). Useful for Extremes, Overloads and such.

Cowman Edit: Already mentioned

[/hide]

http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=hunting_guide.htm

[hide]Section about imps, worth mentioning that it will bank the entire stack of items as if it was 1 item.

Speedyshel Edit: Added imp info

[/hide]

http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=mining_guide.htm

[hide]"You can buy a Dwarven Stout from the Inn in Falador and other pubs around Runescape. Drinking it will raise your mining and smithing by one level for a couple of minutes."

>for a couple of minutes.< should be wiped as there's no telling how long it'll stay, could be 1s, could be 60s, unless you re-log. Certainly not two mins =p.

Cowman Edit: Clarified

Levelling:

60-85 should be renamed to 60-99 while keeping the 85-99 as mining rune is not the best training .

Cowman Edit: I'll have someone look into this. EDIT: Done

Mining aids: (rename to boosters? :P)

Spicy stew. 'nuff said. :P

Cowman Edit: See above

[hide]http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=prayer_guide.htm

Home altars:

Change information about using bones on altar to offer-x or however it's named now :P

Dark_Aura Edit: Already in Guide

http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=ranged_guide.htm

Jewelries, (i) rings from MA should be added.

[hide]Information about Circus XP should be added to tips & tricks.

Cowman Edit: Added

[/hide]

http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=runecrafting_guide.htm

Tips and tricks, along with penance gloves and lightness boots, the extended agility course equipment should be noted. As well as later in power runecrafting section.

http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=smithing_guide.htm

[hide]Tips and tricks, for best bank->furnace locations, Edgeville is not listed.

Cowman Edit: Already listed as members only as it requires Varrock Ach. Diary

[hide]http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=thieving_guide.htm

Thieving aids:

Spicy stews, sir?

This is just my personal observation, but I'm not sure about adding Spicy Stews to everything because stews have a high chance to backfire, which would be very unwelcoming say, If i was half way into a agility course.

I thought so too, but they were on most guides, some of which I wouldn't have agreed myself that they might be the best idea for that skill (Personally, I think the only skills you really want the stews for are construction and herblore, I guess), however they're extremely useful on quests. Agility in particular as people find it slow or boring to train. For example, Regicide and that line of quests, you might want to use a +5 or possibly even +6 (Seriously rare) boost to bypass some obstacles. Since you can do +5 with Summer Pie and +6 with stew is very rare, it probably isn't the most important, but still worth mentioning.

As for high chance to backfire, the chance is just as high to be boosted, I think, just that the effect is worse if it backfires.

Anyhow, I realise that's quite a bit to add/change (if decided to do them all), and that's just the skills pages. I was noted that there are some quite outdated information on some guides, so I decided to check it out. Apparantly on guides that are less referred to there're a bit more of them :P

Hopefully you guys will find this useful, I was seriously surprised that Lunars teleports were NOT included in the farming sections, as those are just made for farming. :P

I skimmed the combat guide and I just have one more addition. It says it requires 500 points to gamble under the Dragon Chainbody section. That has since been reduced to 30 points and still requires a queen kill.

A reflection is just a distorted reality held by glass and your mind.

Additional information about Ivandis flail:

As I mentioned earlier, making the chain gives 100 xp (Best use of silver bar), however you can continue making it. Adding an emerald to silver sickle (B) gives you 20 experience and making it all into a flail gives even another 20 exp, making the total exp for the Ivandis flail 140 XP. Its kinda slow though, so silver bar > silvthrill chain would be the best, unless you want the flails.

Edit: Sorry, total exp for the ivandis flail is actually 195 if you also make the ivandis rod.

Edit2: This should also be added to the Crafting calculator, as quite frankly, at 3gp per xp it's likely one of the best crafting methods considering the speed. Probably comes very close to air battlestaves.

  • 2 weeks later...

Personally, I reckon they should be mentioned at some skill overview or a page dedicated just for boosters ought to exist (If you guys want, I can try and make it :D). I mean, people tend to forget those things, and without a guide to follow, one may train unnecessarily.

Personally, "training unnecessarily" doesn't exist. That's what this game is about.

Can we please keep to the Topic and not have judgmental attacks towards Crew please SportsGuy?

I'll have a look into a few of the combat related guides today to touch up a few things.
