Chubz
Well I'm approaching 85 Fishing and I'm wondering whether I should go and fish Cavefish until 90 or Barb. fish at Otto's. With what I hear, they're very bad exp as well as quite bad money. I will make 9-10M depending on G.E prices if I do choose to do Cavefish. Below is my story ( Reading it is not necessary)I recently lost Dragon claws, a friend of mine made a new account and got 99 Fishing at lobsters and now fishes Rocktails and has an Armadyl godsword and I got a 'lil' bit jealous as I'd love one <3:.And I went there with an Admiral pie yesterday, it rose my Fishing level to 88 and they were quite slow at first then I got 4 in under 5 seconds then it went quiet for a while until it ran out. And at Barbarian fishing I get 35-45k an hour (Yes, I know this is slow, I like to afk :/) So what are your thoughts? I'd be attentive to your views and would appreciate it, thanks. -Chubz. 12pure34
Well you can mix them up:Cavefish --> lovely AFK experience and a nice chat. Barbarian --> Very intensive clicking (dropping / cutting)Shilo --> Less clicking but nowhere near AFKable. Just mix em all up. Cavefish is the only one where you will make a nice buck tough. Chubz
/ cutting)What do you mean  , all I do is fish a full inventory then drop them. Sometimes however, when I've got nothing else to do I just fish one then drop it and repeat.
schmuall
If, as you say, you like to afk then you can instantly forget about barb fishing. It's only better xp if you're paying attention. Now if you really want profit from an afkable source, then cavefish isn't an awful idea (though there are better ones). Personally, I'd do shilo fly fishing, as it's semi-afkable and better xp then cavefish. I'd make my money elsewhere. give F2P a penny and they want a dime; give P2P a quarter, they want 100,000 dollars, your car, house, boat, social security number, credit card numbers, drivers license, clothes on your back and everything you ever owned or interacted with ever
crashNburn
If you can drop fast between casting, barb fishing actually leaves a fair amount of afk time. I wait til I have 24 fish, then drop four fish between casts x4, followed by 3 fish between casts x4. In 8 drops my inv is back to only four fish (I automatically catch another fish right after each drop), and I just wait around for it to fill up again. If you can't drop relatively fast, or don't want to bother, do cavefish. But barb fishing doesn't take as much concentration as people believe, unless you're going for the absolute fastest rate. But, as with most skills; The higher you get them, the more you benefit. And I, I believe that getting 99 Fishing will make enough money :). What I've tried: Hunter - Chins ~ Too many bots. - Imp Hunting ~ Takes a while, some bots there too. PKing - Loots ~ They are very good indeed. However, they are not what they used to be and EP is just the worst thing I'd have to say Jagex has updated. Woodcutting - Yew/Magic trees ~ To say that I have the Woodcutting cape, they are not very good for money making ( Unless I'm F2P ). Mining - Guild ~ Not very good money. - Gems ~ Very rarely get a decent stone. - Gold ~ Only really good for F2P, usually crowded too. Merching - Clans ~ This is alright money. But, you need quite a bit to actually make a lot aswell as needing to wait from a week to over a month. - Flipping ~ Every attempt I've either lost money or only just made some back by selling everything at lowest. I hope you can see where I'm coming from. Other money makers usually take a lot of commitment, don't really help me progress my skills or you need certain requirements: Quests; I am a Pure. -Chubz. Dexek
If you want money then there are many other methods for much more cash/hr, although they require you to pay attention and do more clicking. However, if you just want your fishing experience, and want to casually sit around making a below average cash/hr then definitely go with the cavefish option. I guess it just depends if you're willing to put in more effort for more money or not. Andy
If you want money, try kyatt hunting. 10k per clean fur, and if you get a good rythmn going on you can do 1-2 invs per hour.
