Train range, collect charms..

konkar

Recommended Posts

What set up - 10mill to spend max.. incl arrows or what ever ect...

Want to train range on something that drops (prefer. crim charms)

Would hope to find something that also drops items to make a small amount of money along the way an pay for more arrows or what ever it is im told to use as ammo...

I would prob be the poorest most casual longterm lvl 131 player around, dont laugh lol...

What should I buy to set me up, an what should I head to ta smash some faces with arrows an collect charms along the way... (if only I could afford to barrage meself some charms lol, *thinks of being rishhhhh, 'comes back to reality*

to be honest with that new fancy slayer helmet you'd be best off training slayer.. you'd be getting plenty of charms and quite a lot of money.

I don't know if it is still viable, but cannoning wallaski's (there is a room with 5 or 6 along path to DK's) gets decent charms (primarily blues and crims, equivalent of 100 crims per hour in terms of xp), and is 80-100k range xp per hour and was profitable a few months ago. The prices of the bone pieces that they drop don't seem to have dropped that much and the skeletal gloves and boots have gone up. Essentially you bring cannon, 3k balls, few range potions, 2 tortoises (in your case) 10ish prayer pots, rune thrownaxe, and a bit of food for getting there. Wear pretty much rune crossbow with broad bolts + zam book, fury if you have, then arma/karil/blk d hide archers/arma helm. Set up cannon somewhere in the middle of the room, pray mage, and just rip em. When I did it I was making 100-200k per 3k cannon balls I used and getting equivalent of 100 crims an hour at like 90 range (and about 80k range xp an hour). Tortoise there is to help you collect bone pieces and pieces of skeletal armor which is what will make you your money back (or profit). Again prices have fluctuated a bit since I did it, but I believe it is still viable and would be minimal loss to profit overall.

I've heard that chinning nechryeals can be pretty good (about 180-200k exp/hour). You'd need to get your slayer up to 80 first, though you could do it with range.

They drop a good amount of crims and other charms, and supposedly you can actually profit from it, although I haven't done it myself.

There's some guides you can check out, here's a pretty good one.

You no longer profit chinning nechs :\ rune boots went down the toilet and you'd need some insane herb seed drops to cover it because they also dropped. It is still relatively viable as the loss is not too heinous (-200k or so a trip where a trip is about 1k chins), and it is about 160k range xp an hour... slower than other chin spots because you are looting more and need to use EE every once in awhile for some health (I did this for nech tasks for a looonnnng time, however no longer because it is no longer profitable and melee is sadly faster)

Ah, ok. Thanks :P

Still, if you want to chin without breaking your bank I guess it's not too bad of an idea.

The BEST way to get charms while ranging is Cannon Scarabites. They're almost as good as waterfiends, but much more expensive and fairly dangerous if you don't pay close attention or aren't prepared.

Lots more banking too.

remember that for chinning, the grey chins are cheaper per exp than red chins. they are a bit slower though.

I'd really suggest chinning of some sort, then using the spare time to make more money. I found that more fun than slaying range, because things seem to die sooo slowly even with the slayer helm :P

You could also look into ranging black demons in the chaos tunnels; yes they are slow and boring if you aren't paying attention to a movie or something, but there are spots that no black demon can reach (meaning easy safespotting), they drop tons of crimson charms, they profit a little, they only require welfare gear to be effective, and they are easily afkable.

For a change, what about dust devils also as another rangable option?
