Maczeii
I haven't trained melee in over 1.5 years now, so can anyone update me for the best weapon to train strength? Its only for 5 levels and I'm planning on purchasing full Bandos after 99 ranged so there'll be no money left for a Godsword. howbadisbad
Chaotic Rapier Hypocrite. You tell others to be nice then attempt to murder people. Nice going, you just failed life.
xSxqPowerx
Rapier>Longsword>Sara sword>Dragon scimitar Personally, I would go with a whip on controlled if I didn't have a chaotic weapon - saves some time in the long run.
Maczeii
My Dungeoneering is 1 so I'll try the Sara sword. Thanks 1st goal: 2nd goal: Designed for Life

SirIzenhime
keeping your stats even and training on controlled with a whip is the best way to train melee in general, but if you're only looking for Str, then the Sara sword is best (other than the Chaotic rapier) Fisher/Woodcut------Me-----Miner/crafter----Stabber----Leecher ^Golvellius must be so proud^
doogsidoof
Yh, but whip has only shared xp with Att and Str, right? yes it does, Overall it would be more total xp, but shared between 3 skills, so for the best str xp only go with the sara sword. And i completely forgot about the new dung weapons #-o Owner of a Quest cape since 9/11/08It's not about the other people, its about shooting cute furry things that explode. Evil_Sabre
Dharoks is better than all of the above, if used properly. Definitely, take dh to ape atoll and it will outperform the sara sword any day.
lagatag
keeping your stats even and training on controlled with a whip is the best way to train melee in general, but if you're only looking for Str, then the Sara sword is best (other than the Chaotic rapier) I disagree strongly. Training my melee through mainly slayer its more efficient to get 99 strength first to maximize my damage since most slayer monsters have fairly low defense. Anyway, I got 99 strength with dragon scimmy, but back then it was best. Now I'd say go for Sara sword. Maybe get a chaotic rapier if you like dungeoneering and can afford to pay for it degrading, which is only like 200k an hour, but I've seen evidence to suggest they degrade per hit and per hit against you, rather than per time interval like barrows, so at multi-combat or against fast hitting monsters your weapons degrade faster.
