winterhawk18
Ok so I have two completely unrelated questions, one about smithing and the other about Tormented Demons The easy one: I have 73 smithing, I want 80, whats the most efficient way to get there? Money is no problem, but I would prefer not to spend 40m on 7 smith levels. I've heard addy bolts or superheat are good, or should I just make the best thing I can with sacred clay? A bit more complicated issue about TDs: So I was talking in our clan's chat and one of my clan members tells everybody about a glitch he heard about at Tds where if you use soulsplit they will stop changing attack styles. Not believing this to be true I went to try it out for myself and once the TD started using his melee attack I switched to soulsplit instead of protection prayers and sure enough he only meleed the rest of the kill. He would still rear his head back and shake, as they normally do to signal an attack change, and would still release the magic fireball, but instead of switching to range or mage, he would just continue to melee. I've looked through the RSOF and internet in general and have to yet to see much mention of this before. Is this just the way Td A.I. is supposed to work, or would this be considered bug abuse? Thanks for your replies
jsboutin2
I can't help you for TDs, but superheating gold is a great way, making upwards of 120k smithing xp an hour, if done efficiently.
gorofujita
highest platebody you can make with sc hammers is generally the fastest, and also most expensive.
mujammil
I do not believe the TD thing is a glitch as it's been around quite a while and few people do it, the reason few do it is despite the fact you can soul split, soul spltting isn't efficient as you can still get damaged quite a lot. Thanks for the replies everybody. I found the damage taken to be quite manageable. You spend most of your time ranging in which case you can just take a step back and the TD can't touch you. Throw in quick melee hits with a whip and d claws specs and soul split will be healing a lot of the damage taken, Unicorn takes care of whatever is left over. Of course I am maxed cmbt so I could see how this wouldn't be useful for lower levels. It didn't make the kills any faster, but it definitely made things simpler
Cactuaar
The soul splitting is more useful if you're using a steel titan in my opinion, since you need a form of healing in that case other than a few emergency brews. With 2 overloads, 4-6 brews are able to last me, so it's nearly enough healing by itself. With a unicorn, there is should be no need to use soul split, as it uses more prayer than a protection prayer, and if you do get hit occasionally when they switch styles, the unicorn should manage that. For smithing, you could try smelting and superheating gold at the same time, with the gold smelting gloves. You can get around 120k exp per hour I believe, along with some magic exp. I use around 15 natures per 27 gold ores, along with using a varrock armour 3. You could calculate the cost if interested. Only downside is that you have to pay more attention than just smelting. shawn3090
The TDs do not switch attack styles if you do not block damage except on rare occasions. If you hally them in a safespot while they are trying to melee then they do not switch styles for a long time. [hide=Stats][/hide]"One death is a tragedy. mujammil
Soul splitting is pointless due to as said before, the extra prayer consumption. If your using a unicorn, tbh that is more than enoguh on it's own to cover damage, you just need more experience to make sure you don't get hit a lot. As for using soul split with a steel titan, thta would be more appropriate, but pointless because by the time the td attacks with melle, it is almost dead as steel titan kills are extremely fast. ghjkl
Or you can just turn it on if you are too lazy to switch
