Seraphi
Okay, basically, a little while ago I thought how easy to make and fun to play a Fire Emblem tabletop game would be, so I suggested it on /tg/ and I got into contact with a couple of other people who felt the same way, and we started work on a tabletop game based entirely around fire emblem. The reason I'm telling you guys this is that we are in need of playtesters to make sure the skeletal system we have right now is working. It would entail reading some 5 pages of rules and keeping them around for reference, creating some characters and then playing a test game or two to check the balancing. As previously stated, the system right now is pretty bare-bones, and doesn't contain any skill rules and things like that. It will be played on Maptool, though the system is designed to work on the same style board as a D&D game, so that is fairly obvious. The combat rules can be found here:http://pdfcast.org/pdf/fire-emblem-tabletop-combat-rules And the chargen rules have not been written up properly yet, so I will simply put them in hide tags below.[hide=Character Generation Rules] The stats are as follows:HPStrength *or* Magic (Which one it is depends on class, but logic should state that a sword user is not going to have a magic stat.)SkillSpeedDefenseResistance Each character gets 1d10+20 points to put into these stats, along with their classes base stats, which are displayed below. Each point placed into the HP stat gives you an additional 2 HP. There are two other stats, constitution and movement. during initial stat distributing, each class starts with a base con value, that can be added at cost, or subtracted from for extra points elsewhere. Movement cannot be altered. for con, we haven't really crunched much yet, just using this chart for initial con values, so far so good.http://www.serenesforest.net/fe7/class_base.htm Afterwards, you must distribute growth values. Each unit gets 300% total growth. Upon levelling up, you must roll 1d100 for each stat, and if you get a result under that stats growth value, you get an additional point in that stat. The 300% must be divided into each stat, but it must always be a multiple of 5. Lords get 1d10 +25, because they have no base bonuses, thye also get to distribute 320% for their stat growths, instead of the 300% that everyone else gets. class list for bonuses is as follows - (cavs and air units get only +5 for initial bonuses to make up for cost of extra movement.) in order of hp , str/mag, skl, spd, def, res. no class has a base bonus for luck. Cavalier: +1 +1 +1 +1 +1 +0Knight: +2 +2 +1 +0 +3 +0Mage: +1 +1 +1 +2 +0 +2Shaman: +1 +2 +1 +0 +1 +2Fighter: +3 +2 +1 +1 +0 +0Pirate: +2 +3 +0 +2 +0 +0-Thief: +1 +0 +2 +3 +0 +1Mercenary: +2 +1 +1 +1 +2 +0Myrmidon: +1 +0 +3 +2 +0 +1Archer: +1 +2 +2 +2 +0 +0Wyvern Rider: +2 +1 +1 +0 +1 +0Pegasus Knight: +0 +0 +2 +2 +0 +1Priest/Cleric: +1 +1 +1 +2 +0 +2Monk: +1 +2 +1 +1 +0 +2Troubadour: +1 +0 +1 +2 +0 +1[/hide] And here is the draft of the character card. We'll get to items when people have created their characters.[hide=Character Card][/hide] If anybody needs further clarification, please do not hesitate to ask. EDIT: You will need to make 5 or more characters, though I recommend not making more than 5 for now, since it will basically just waste your time. So, any volunteers? Retech
As playtesters, should we try to use the rules to our advantage, so that you can find the flaws and fix them? Master of your domain? Seraphi
By all means do so, as long as it isn't things like rerolling dice when generating stats, then go for it.
Retech
Yep yeppers. Not many rules to abuse though. I'll go ahead and start making a character. Master of your domain? Seraphi
Ah yeah, since it's fire emblem, you'll need to make 5 characters. One of them must be a lord, no others can be a lord after that. Basically, one lord, 4 other classes. And I think you'll find that the rules are nigh-unabusable without direct assistance from the Random Number Gods :P
Iconic
Will we have to download a file to play it? [Falador tavern]
Seraphi
Not per se, no, but it may help. You can read those combat rules online on pdfcast, but it would be easier if you downloaded it. Again though, not required.
Iconic
I reserve the Shaman character. Also, I don't really think I would be so good at understanding those rules, are we meant to work them out ourselves? [Falador tavern]
Seraphi
It's pretty easy, as long as you know multiplication, division, addition and subtraction you should be able to work it out. To clarify, you will need to make 5 characters. Only one can, and must, be a lord. Other than that, you can pick whichever classes you want. Hell, you can have four shamans and a lord if you want. Iconic
Ok, I'll try but if it gets too confusing i'm afraid I'll have to withdraw [Falador tavern]

Seraphi
Four other units, and then just follow the character generation rules to get stats and such. Unless you've already done that, in which case, you just need the four other units. EDIT: I made a character card template for you guys. You don't need to use it, but you can if you want to. [hide=Character card][/hide] Ignore any sections which aren't listed in the rules in the OP for now. In the skills section, put which weapon the unit can use, and if you have a pirate, put waterwalking in its skillbox as well. I'll get onto items when the rest is done, so hang tight. Seraphi
Nah, Lords get 1d10+25 to put into their stats, instead of the 1d10+20 that other units get, on account of them not having any base stats.
