Very nice, I like the dithered effect as the shadow transfixes it's way down.

 

 

 

Did you use some kind of charcoal pencil on this? I've done that, and it turned out very similar.

 

 

 

The texture helps it look even better, very nice job with that.

 

 

 

The shadow shouldn't be so dark, but nonetheless it works.

Actually, I only ever use a HB 0.5mm pencil. It does the job, and I tend to stab the picture a bit in Photoshop because my scanner screws with shades and gives everything a yucky bluish tint, so I desaturate it and give a good disciplinary slap to the contrast.
