99 Summoning

99 Summoning is one of my long term goals so I was wondering what is the cost of 83-99 at the moment?

Using only crimsons, it would take you 31,810 granite lobbs to get 99. I assume that most of your exp will be crimson, and for ease of calculating, i will just use that. Each crimson is approximately worth 6k when you barrage (in cost of casts). Based on these numbers, you will be looking to spend:

 

Shards: 10357336 shards (25.9m)

[if exchanging] 3107200.8 shards (7.75m)

Seconds: 9.4m

Crimsons: 191m

 

TOTAL: About 208m all in. These are the calculations for only using crimsons. It may be more/less depending on what you do with other charms. This should be a pretty close approximation though, so expect to spend a lot.

Thanks, although I will probably not burst as much as I will be doing slayer for a bit so I expect it to be a bit cheaper.

 

Also, what is the rate of money that you have to make to mean that bursting rock lobs would be better for charms then waterfiends?

I would need to know the charms/hour when slaying. Seeing as it varies entirely based on what task you are assigned, and most slayer tasks will give you very few, i would imagine just about any income makes it worthwhile. But then again, if you want maxed melee and high slayer, you might as well do a chunk of charm collecting with slayer. I will start training slayer once i max combat with high summ, so its of no concern to me.

If you're doing slayer, make sure your block list is optimized for charm drops. Don't go blocking Skeletal Wyverns, for example. :wink:

Frequent charm drops with a crimson bias, two at a time. They're definitely one of the more efficient tasks for charms, especially if you Piety them, and you can make some decent profit off the bones (although the rest of the droplist is pretty bad).

 

Your exact block list is obviously going to depend on preference, but if you're going for 99 summoning in the long term you'll definitely want to skew your preferences toward charm drops. If I recall correctly, the best charm droppers on Kuradal's list are waterfiends, nechs, wyverns, dusties, black demons, Chaos Tunnel dagannoths, and greater demons. I think. Hopefully someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Wyverns can get you about 190 crimsons/h while on task, don't block em.

if you're ONLY going for charms, Spirit mages and Warped Tortoises are a good start

i still want combat xp and cash, so im thinking at the moment block : warped torts (is there a quest for them), Aquanites and Steel Dragons (too slow) Once I get 200 QP (184 atm) ill block another one when I unlock, maybe kalphite

Warped tortoises can only be assigned after completion of Path of Glouphrie, so you can hold off on finishing that quest for a while. I think you can do it partway and still upgrade your spirit trees without unlocking the task. I think. You don't need to block Aquanites because Kuradal doesn't assign them. Steel dragons are definitely a good task to block, though, and I'll support you on kalphites as well. I'm more ambivalent on the living rocks as they're pretty good combat xp and you can make good money off them too, but it's a defensible choice: their charms are mediocre and the tasks are pretty long.

 

Bloodvelds or suqahs would be good blocks for you as well. Both of them are money drains and poor charm droppers.

i bought the ability to have aquanites as soon as it came out... i havent done that quest yet and i dont really wanna quest at all tbh. i dunno about living rock creatures as i havent had a task but ive head of their bad charm rate and the large numbers you are assigned. i dont find suqahs too much of a problem but i do cannon them and bloodvelds i do melee and not really cannon, although i could cannon if i wanted.

Slayer isn't the best way to get charms but these are the tasks I know that contribute.

 

Waterfiends (crimsons) *best

Black Dragons (do KBD to get crimson) *second best
