@Dan3HitU
Personally, I think it was, I've seen many, many fights stopped from lesser pummel-punching. What I mean is; when Carwin was above Lesnar pummeling him, generally fights are stopped, some may say he was intelligently defending himself (in which case the fight should have gone on like it did) however, many fights I've seen they are defending themselves but they still stop the fight. I believe the ref was told before the fight to not stop the match unless Lesnar either tapped or was pretty much knocked out, the UFC seem to be milking the precious Lesnar even though he only got into the UFC due to his fame from the WWE. topham
I really think that the ref did a good job and didn't stop the fight. I don't think Lesnar was out at any point, although it was a prolonged amount of time Carwin was on top. But, as a title fight, and the biggest hyped fight ever, I think it is justifiable that it wasn't stopped without a clear submission or knockout. Also, Carwin got 1/10th the money Lesnar got for that fight for official payout. -Destroy Topham-
Myweponsg00d
Theres a difference between what lesnar was doing and what you usually see called. When you see a fight called for something like that, usually the fighter is in a daze and losing conciousness, but has his hands in front of his face by reflex. (like when you see a boxer get knocked out and hes laying on his back punching) Usually when this happens, the person on top gets free reign with direct, blunt hits. In lesnar's case, he was actively defending himself and looking for punches to deflect. Also Carwin's hits were fairly indirect. I mean obviously the right call was made since Lesnar was still able to turn on the heat later in the round. If he was on his back till the bell rang, and then he got up and lumbered to his corner, I would say that the fight might have been justifiably stopped. But he just wasnt that hurt. pennywise
if it had been stopped earlier it would have been a bad call from the refNot many of carwins punches were even hitting brock in the face, only his gloves. Eight Bananas, MD.
Necromagus
Yeah, it definitely wasn't as bad as it looked, and Carwin was blown up by the end of the first round. Obviously Lesnar is probably the only fighter on the planet who could beat Carwin simply by letting him punch the face until he got tired. Funnily enough, Lesnar's loss against Mir was the perfect example of a ref calling things too soon. There was no way Lesnar was punching intentionally for the back of the head. topham
Lesnars loss against Mir? He lost via Kneebar... In their second fight he was hitting the back of Mirs head, not intentionally, but still won the fight -Destroy Topham-
