Training farming (starting at lvl 70)

Hi everyone

I was wondering some things.

Once I get 70 farming, I might try training it a bit more intense than I used to but I have some questions about the methods.

I know trees and fruit trees give me the most xp and that growing herbs gives me the most money.

I've also read through some guides so I know how I should plan and which farm runs I should take.

But my question is: Can I farm cost effectively and gain a nice amount of xp? If possible. Could you give me some advice at how I should start please (at lvl 70 farming)?

For the moment, I'm thinking of planting willow trees and about fruit trees I'm not very sure yet. Also I will be planting kwuarm seeds and I'm also not very sure what I should put in the allotment. And finally I'll also plant poison ivy in the bush patches.

Some help would be very appreciated. I'm willing to spend a few mills (up to 5m) but I'd really like a way to farm to profit and gain some nice xp.

Thanks in advance

I have data here on how much gp/xp seeds will cost, and roughly how long it takes to reach each of the patches.

It's up to you how much xp you wan't to get per day.

Here are a few things i recommend to everybody who's training farming:

I recommend you train with poison ivy starting at lvl 70 though.

1k XP and it never dies, and it earns a profit from selling the berries.

You should do that more or less regardless of your income

Same goes for picking cactus spines

I won't advise you on what fruit trees, trees, and herbs to plant, and stuff like whether or not the trollheim patch is actually worth the walk.

but hopefully that spreadsheet can help you out on that.

if xp/day isn't an issue, orange trees seem to be the most efficient xp for fruit trees, at reasonable incomes.

You could farm Maple trees and Papaya fruit trees. And you can also farm calquat trees when you can. That is about 85k exp per day for only 500-600k cash. Then of course you can farm herbs which will help you break even or even profit sometimes. I've been doing that from 75-98 farming and I've barely lost anyting using this method.

There's a leveling plan in my guide, link in sig.

I recommend you carefully look at the gp/xp ratios of seeds before you intuitively pick something. For example, you would think that magics pair best with palms, but in reality, palms pair up with yews and maples (having a gp/xp ratio in between the ratios of maples and yews).

If you want something cheap, you want willows and pineapples. If you choose to farm maples, then farm papaya, since they are roughly the same gp/xp ratio.

And ofc, farm herbs, flowers, bushes, and good specials (calquat, jade vine, etc).

Yes, allotments are only if you cannot farm any trees/fruit trees (eg. low levels). I know some people like to farm Strawberries or Sweetcorn for the profit, but I honestly don't think it's worth the trouble/time.

Kwuarms are probably not the right herb for you. You'll want either avantoe or snapdragon or some combination of the two.

Poison ivy is definitely worthwhile. At the very minimum you should be using the Tower of Life and Champions Guild patches since they're so fast to get to. If you don't have access to Rimmington teleport and an Etceteria spirit tree, the other two are less attractive but still fine.

With Love Story, you can now use an Altered House Tab and go to Rimmington. CIP Fairy Ring takes you fairly close to Etc. patch.

Calquat trees are definitely worth it.
