Rare Market

Heya. So, I have recently invested myself into the small-rares market. I managed to snipe a bunch of stuff for market price (3 crowns, uncut onyx, and a few bobs). With the upcoming update, I am concerned about the stability of these items, and where the prices will likely go once released. I personally expect bobs to become obsolete, along with animal masks, so I am expecting them to crash. I am completely unsure as to how crowns and uncuts will react to this change, due to the fact that they have no relation to TT items (other than trading for street value), and the fact that they have such a high street value currently. I am trying to decide what to do with all these rares. My initial idea was to get rid of them to let the market settle down after an update like this. But then I figured that crowns/uncuts might end up rising in street value as the only way to trade for the new items (which will obviously be hyper-inflated for the first few weeks). I don't have any junk right now, so what I am asking you guys is: What should I do with my rares?

 

Please discuss my concern, along with anything else related to the rare market and the future of TT items as junk trading commodities.

Crowns I can see falling, as they are not TT items, but essentially serve the exact same purpose.

 

Uncuts, however, have a purpose different than most TT items, and that is for fury amulets and onyx (i) rings. The uncut onyx will likely remain stable over time, since it might get a little disrupted by the release, it won't see any competition.

I was talking more of in the long term. Crowns might lose 50% or more of their worth, Onyx may like 10% or so, nothing too big.

I don't forsee crowns lasting too much longer, but that's not to say they won't. They're quite rare. I'm personally trying to move my crowns to another market since I don't trust them.

But with more people hunting clues for the new rewards, there will not only be more Bob shirts coming in, but people with no knowledge of street price will sell their rewards in the GE because they're after the newer items.

You think bobs will stay? I have already seen them drop by more than 50% in the last 2 days. More items = less demand for old, more demand for new. Only time will tell for sure. Uncuts do have a street value though. Its slightly less than a ring.

Bobs still fluctuate from 2.5-4m depending on the time of day, so they're the same as they've been for the last week or so.

 

I think most people will be hunting level 3s and 4s. And people selling to GE has no effect on street, since they're bought out pretty hard.

 

That being said, I don't think they'll last forever. But for the near future, I think they're here to stay.

I personally believe Dragon items will be the backbone of the new TT updates, which will cause a short term crash. I'm planning to buy after the first few days and profit from the bounce.

How should I go about trying to nab these new items with the goal being a quick profit? I don't have junk... so I figure I am SOL, unless I am missing something.

Err, are you asking how to get the new items?

 

Options:

1. Do an assload of clues

2. Snipe on GE (will be very difficult probably)

 

Or are you asking what to do with them?

 

Options:

1. Trade for other "street items" like crowns, onyx, bob shirts, battle robes

2. Trade for stock of a newly manipulated items, ride them up, sell

3. Ride the item up itself, sell

Not really. I was more referring as to how I can make a lot of money when these items come out, with the knowledge of my 0 junk, 3 crowns, onyx, and 5 bobs. If there is a way to get cash right off the bat, that's what im looking for. Sniping won't work, unless rs is filled with idiots (not a stretch).

 

If that isn't clear: If you had no junk, 3 crowns, an uncut onyx, and 5 bobs, what would you do with them?

Go up. However, I don't think that can get you anywhere. It's too far from pumps, and the mid level rares such as h'weens have seemed to crash. Just hold on to them for now, but trade your bobs for crowns IMO.
