heres a few things you need to know before to start

This thread is for 1 defence pures not zerker/barrows only 1 defence!

DO NOT TRAIN DEFENCE to help with this there are a few quests you are not aloud to do you will read them soon

DO NOT GET HIGH PRAYER / SUMMONING

a little debate weather pures have sum click show to see other comment

Imo, you SHOULD get high summoning, or at least train it somewhat.

You won't have to spend much extra time, since you'll get the charms during your normal training.

It doesn't effect your combat level in PvP, unless you explicitly use it. If not, it'll be like you never trained it.

The benefit of training is that you get to use all the useful familiars to help you. For example, bunyips while training to make life easier, and BoBs.

the maximum for 1 defence pure which is still good pker is roughly 44 some do have 52 but there old pkers for smite smite is now pointless, because of this there a few quests to avoid but quests is the best way to get it to 44 I will post them later too.

2. Getting started

After you have made your account maybe a nice catchy name! You would need to get money, and a good way to get money for a new account is collecting cow hides just outside lumby castle.

3000.jpg

Standard_Pix

Also with cow hides I would recommend the field with Beefy Bill situated behind the Lumbridge windmill. This is a decent spot as its usually un-crowded and Bill will bank your cowhides for a small cost (2-3 cowhides depending inventory size.)

you can just kill them and train while do it and then collect, or you can just collect from the people that do not collect them. after a full invent (be sure to have 10gp+ in your invent for the gate) go to alkarid bank located south east and bank then go back and repeat until your happy with your money for starting

3. training

training all depends on your level, and because you are 1 defence you will get hit easily

I recommend this:

for range:

1-30 cows (collecting cow hides for money)

30-40 monks (monastery)

40-50 hill giants (dungeon near barbarian village needs brass key)

50 + I recommend getting members and go to ogres after doing plague city quest you can easily get 99 there but there easy ways

50 - 70 for ftp hill giants / lesser demons (in karamja volcano)

70+ ftp cockroaches

for members the best way for pure to train is soul wars pest control is only good for 100+ cb so soul wars is the way for you!

if you dont want to use soul wars then ogres in combat training area / slayer tasks (slayer is very hard unless you have 43 prayer)

for the rich pures that you do see, chinchopas with 43 prayer is the fastest way however it is very expensive so only do this if you ready to lose money

melee:

for melee (attack and strength)

I say wait till members before you start it, and do waterfall quest waterfall quest on its own gives, enough experience for 1 - 32 in both attack and strength and its a short quest which is very handy

how ever if you dont want to do that typically the same as range its:

1 - 20 cows (collecting hides)

20 - 40 monks

after 40 if you stay ftp its a long road of monks because of your lack of defence so again I recommend getting members.

40+ again is soul wars

there are a few quests that help with attack and strength but that can also cause a problem

the maximum level in attack for a good pker in a pure is 60 for dragon scim (monkey madness quest)

and you can get allot of xp in attack from quests again you will see what best is to do there a quests you HAVE to do to help you be a good pure for items such as dragon scim

and I recommend doing those quests before you are 60 attack I would prefer to do them when you are 40 attack no higher

magic:

magic is very simple there is a ftp quest that helps all you need is beads and you will get 1-9 magic fast and free (unless you buy the beads) and I would do that defiantly no need to waste time or money on casting when you can get 9 strait away on the quest "imp catcher" so do that before you train magic

after that do curses it will keep hitpoints down and its very fast as well until you are level 25 magic for varock teleport level 25

after lvl 25 do varock teleport for 31 magic (lumbridge teleport)

after 31 magic teleport lumbridge for 37 magic (falador teleport)

after 37 magic I recommend members so when you get 45 magic you can get comelot teleport

after 45 magic get 55 with comelot teleports

then 55 is high alchemy 55-99 with alchemy is recommended for pures and most other accounts

magic also has the ancient spells after desert treasure quest which is another fast way for 99 magic using burst / barrage (same way with red chinchompas needed 43 prayer too)

other tips which I dont use but I know a lot of people use

rock crabs for range and melee east of relleka ive never used them train but i here there very effective if you want to experiment go for it

4. equipment:

equipment is quite simple

range:

best leather you can use

you will only be able to change chaps and vambraces body needs 40 defence to wear

plain leather 1- 20

20 - 40 studded chaps

40 - 50 green chaps / vambraces

50 - 60 blue chaps / vambraces

60 - 70 red chaps / vambraces

70+ black chaps / vambraces

after doing recipe for disaster quest you will be able to use other gloves which will give strength bonus the maximum for a 1 defence pure is adamant gloves again I will say more later about quests, each gloves requires 1 defence to wear so just do the quests required for it

magic:

normal wizard or (t) /(g) is needed for magic

or if you have done desert treasure you will have a chance to get ghostly robes which provide better magic bonus it consists of (hood, top, bottoms, gloves, boots, cape)

a lot of pure still wear there chaps / vambraces or gloves with the top and hat it gives it that "pure look"

melee

again simple best scim you can use

1 - 5 iron

5 - 10 steel

10 - 20 black

20 - 30 mithril

30 - 40 adamant

40 - 50 rune

50 - 60 granite maul (with 50 strength)

60 dragon scim, Dragon dagger (p++) Dragon claws (if you can buy)

climbing boots for the boots are also a requirement they give a nice 2+ strength boost you can also use wizard boots for magic or just a nice look if you can afford or also ranger boots and robin hood hat again if you can afford

ammy:

strength for melee

power (ftp) for range / magic

glory (p2p)

fury (if you can afford [p2p)

ranging (for range and if you can afford)

body:

leather body is the only armour you can wear unless you get varrock armour 1 that is very good for a pure and also helps with skilling

you can also wear anything that you can afford that you like there but best for easy access is leather body through out your hole of training this account

cape slot:

avas accumulator after animal magnetism it collects arrows you fire if there is no obstacle in the way of the monster

or any cape you want but avas is recommended

shield slot:

books are the best (zammy guthix saradomin) after horror fromt he deep quest, it is said to be hard but I can do it with 1 prayer 1 defence 40+ magic easily

5. quests

Uhmm not bad guide... things i suggest

1. PICTURESSS - its kinda boring reading a guide with no/few pictures

2. DETAILLL - There are lots of guides that say do this, do that and get this.. make your distinctive(how??? your idea is the only one the matters =D)

Just my opinion

Just fix those and it can be useful for a lot more people

i guess so but when i ever i see a pure with summoning i always see the same thing about it being failed, i personaly agree with you but i always see that pures with sum = failed which is pointless in my opinion however i will add what you said

and i will add more pictures soon to make reading it more enjoyable :)

Mmhmm...a bunch of those quests as well are near-impossible to beat w/o decent defence. Summer's end, swan song, desert treasure (the ice mage???). I struggled in the first 2 having 60def, struggled even more in the last one w/ 80. To balance it out, you'd need around 80-ish summoning for a fam, or near-maxxed atk/str/rng.

im not syaing those quest are a must do

im syaing those quests you need to be careful of because of the experience you get for completeting them aka prayer xp, because most pures stay around 44 prayer and dont go over that, thats why i siad those quests to look out for

im not saying do them

the list where i said quests that pures can do /help or whatever it is i said for the title under quests then those are the quests ar emust for pures all the other quests that are in game are extras

these quests are the ones that you need to be to be a maxed pure

Quests which are a must:

ftp:

Cooks assistant

demon slayer

ernest the chicken

goblin diplomacy

imp catcher

the restless ghost (prayer xp)

vampire slayer (attack xp)

plague city

priest in peril (prayer xp)

recipe for disaster (dwarf, goblin, pirate, evil dave, ogre

shadow of the storm

tree gnome village

waterfall

all of the other quests are you dont have to do but im sure some pures out there do do them for the rewards etc, thats why the list that are listed as becareful some of the ones you said summers end. swan song etc i only added thembecause of the risk of ruining your pure if you do them, im not saying pures are able to do them i just copied a list of quests that gives prayer xp and def xp the ones all in the game

Good guide, though it does need some work in the presentation area to make it clearer to read and understand.

Also with cow hides I would recommend the field with Beefy Bill situated behind the Lumbridge windmill. This is a decent spot as it’s usually un-crowded and Bill will bank your cowhides for a small cost (2-3 cowhides depending inventory size.)

Final word, please spell check the whole guide as the spelling and grammar is poor which I personally find annoying. :wall:

The number of 1 def, 11 prayer 40s pures may disagree with you about the Desert Treasure Part. I have personally completed Desert Treasure on an old pure of mine years back with little difficulty.

This guide is littered with inconsistencies. What are the xp/hr rates, money-making methods, etc., for a pure who is just starting out?

I disagree on using a Granite Maul as a primary training weapon. It's far too slow and you would be better off using a Rune Scimitar instead with att/str potions.

Nice ! I will read through it more thoroughly later if I have time.

Question: I accidentally got 2 defence on my pure..am I failed? :(

stats:

52 att(plan to get 60)

71 str

80 range

85 mage (DT DONE)

26 prayer

72 hitpoints

2 def

1 summ

63 combat

Desert treasure was somewhat hard without melee protect at some parts especially the trollheim part. Running through the wolves and then having to fight the boss afterwards was a bit tricky.

[hide=my thoughts on this "guide""]

Heres a few tips and tricks for making a pure.

heres a few things you need to know before to start

This thread is for 1 defence pures not zerker/barrows only 1 defence!

DO NOT TRAIN DEFENCE really?

to help with this there are a few quests you are not aloud to do you will read them soon

DO NOT GET HIGH PRAYER / SUMMONING

It doesn't effect your combat level in PvP, unless you explicitly use it. If not, it'll be like you never trained it.

The benefit of training is that you get to use all the useful familiars to help you. For example, bunyips while training to make life easier, and BoBs.

the maximum for 1 defence pure which is still good pker is roughly 44 some do have 52 but there old pkers for smite smite is now pointless, because of this there a few quests to avoid but quests is the best way to get it to 44 I will post them later too.

you skip right from saying 'dont train summon' and 'summon doesnt affect you anyways' to referring to prayer levels, without explaining why we should get this setup.

2. Getting started

After you have made your account maybe a nice catchy name! You would need to get money, and a good way to get money for a new account is collecting cow hides just outside lumby castle.

(picture)

well, at least you didnt tell us to make a pure with 'scim' 'str' 'ice' or 'k0' in the name. as far as using cows for money, yeah it can get you started for your first gps, but farming quickly becomes far better for profit.

3. training

training all depends on your level, and because you are 1 defence you will get hit easily

I recommend this:

for range:

for members the best way for pure to train is soul wars pest control is only good for 100+ cb so soul wars is the way for you!

lrn2notprod. making a pure a 'product' (either soul wars or pest control) is hardly the best training method. having a pure with super low hitpoints/constitution may look nice, but in pvp youll get shredded. train "naturally" its better in the long run.

if you dont want to use soul wars then ogres in combat training area / slayer tasks (slayer is very hard unless you have 43 prayer)

ogres are often busy, and really isnt that great xp. slayer is more difficult yes, but most tasks you can safespot range.

for the rich pures that you do see, chinchopas with 43 prayer is the fastest way however it is very expensive so only do this if you ready to lose money

what he means is that if you have money and want to be more efficient, go chinning. you get normal constitution xp, your damage xp is halved, but its much faster overall xp.

melee:

for melee (attack and strength)

after 40 if you stay ftp its a long road of monks because of your lack of defence so again I recommend getting members.

40+ again is soul wars

dont sw. just dont. see above

there are a few quests that help with attack and strength but that can also cause a problem

the maximum level in attack for a good pker in a pure is 60 for dragon scim (monkey madness quest)

and you can get allot of xp in attack from quests again you will see what best is to do there a quests you HAVE to do to help you be a good pure for items such as dragon scim

and I recommend doing those quests before you are 60 attack I would prefer to do them when you are 40 attack no higher

you can do all the quests that give attack xp rewards by lvl 50 attack.

magic:

after lvl 25 do varock teleport for 31 magic (lumbridge teleport)

after 31 magic teleport lumbridge for 37 magic (falador teleport)

after 37 magic I recommend members so when you get 45 magic you can get comelot teleport

after 45 magic get 55 with comelot teleports

then 55 is high alchemy 55-99 with alchemy is recommended for pures and most other accounts

yeah, go alch...just be prepared to get bored out of your mind.

magic also has the ancient spells after desert treasure quest which is another fast way for 99 magic using burst / barrage (same way with red chinchompas needed 43 prayer too)

decent method for training magic quickly if you want higher constitution

other tips which I dont use but I know a lot of people use

rock crabs for range and melee east of relleka ive never used them train but i here there very effective if you want to experiment go for it

not good xp, usually crowded with pures that have complexes

4. equipment:

equipment is quite simple

range:

best leather you can use

you will only be able to change chaps and vambraces body needs 40 defence to wear

70+ black chaps / vambraces

basically, wear the best chaps/vambs for your level. of course you cant wear bodies, youre a pure.

after doing recipe for disaster quest you will be able to use other gloves which will give strength bonus the maximum for a 1 defence pure is adamant gloves again I will say more later about quests, each gloves requires 1 defence to wear so just do the quests required for it

magic:

normal wizard or (t) /(g) is needed for magic

or if you have done desert treasure you will have a chance to get ghostly robes which provide better magic bonus it consists of (hood, top, bottoms, gloves, boots, cape)

full ghostly gives +17 to magic attack bonus. wizard hat is useless unless youre f2p.

other options for members:

runecrafting robes (req 50 rc)(these are f2p also)

god mitres (40 prayer)+ robe legs (20 prayer)

ancient staff (50 magic and complete DT)

master wand (60 magic, no attack req)

elemental staves/battlestaves (elemental staves are f2p)

arcane stream > arcane blast > arcane pulse > fury > glory > magic amulet (pulse + magic amulet are f2p)

all arcane amulets give damage bonus

tome of frost (48 magic + 48 dungeoneering, +10 magic, unlimited water runes)(also f2p)

mages book (60 magic, highest offhand attack bonus)

god books (horror from the deep quest)

god capes (wilderness mage arena)

mages boots

seers ring

adamant rfd gloves

regen brace

ghostly is mainly used as cheap pk gear, not training

a lot of pure still wear there chaps / vambraces or gloves with the top and hat it gives it that "pure look"

yeah, its good basic gear.

melee

again simple best scim you can use

40 - 50 rune

50 - 60 granite maul (with 50 strength)

60 dragon scim, Dragon dagger (p++) Dragon claws (if you can buy)

kill lots of cows, one day you too can buy dclaws

climbing boots for the boots are also a requirement they give a nice 2+ strength boost you can also use wizard boots for magic or just a nice look if you can afford or also ranger boots and robin hood hat again if you can afford

why not stick this stuff regarding other boots/hats in the ranged/magic sections instead of cramming as a side note here?

ammy:

strength for melee

power (ftp) for range / magic

glory (p2p)

fury (if you can afford [p2p)

ranging (for range and if you can afford)

should reorganize several sections of this guide

body:

leather body is the only armour you can wear unless you get varrock armour 1 that is very good for a pure and also helps with skilling

you can also wear anything that you can afford that you like there but best for easy access is leather body through out your hole of training this account

god, learn to spell. and some grammar. been annoying all the way through this. leather body is Not the only option.

iron plate

iron chain

khazard armor (adds a different touch, rubbish bonus though)

mind body

monks top

im sure theres a couple im forgetting.

cape slot:

avas accumulator after animal magnetism it collects arrows you fire if there is no obstacle in the way of the monster

or any cape you want but avas is recommended

ranging, accumulator. melee, obsidian/fire cape/skill cape. magic, god cape. praying, god cloak.

shield slot:

books are the best (zammy guthix saradomin) after horror fromt he deep quest, it is said to be hard but I can do it with 1 prayer 1 defence 40+ magic easily

yeah thanks.

5. quests

okay now for quests:

here are a list of quests you should NOT do at all under any circumstances:

these give defence experience

(quest list)

yeah...good call, since youre pure

Quests which are a must:

(other quests)

I believe that is it hope this helped or if I have not finished then please say what I have missed

heres what you missed:

making a good pure.

if the second rsn you have listed is your reason for making this, thats not going to cut it.

when you make a guide, you should have a good, working experience with whatever youre trying to teach.

you got 70 range, 60 magic, and you did rank slayer, good job.

you left gaping holes discussing gear and methods, and dont really get into the mechanics of making pures.

why even make a pure? whats the point? why make them a specific way? what type of build?

what youve done is listed skills goals you dont have, listed quests i doubt youve finished, and stuck a nice

animatd gif of someone with ranged/magic capes that obviously isnt your pure.

even with the sucky content, you could jazz it up a little with some decent pictures,

instead of a grainy map of eastern lumbridge.

you also repeatedly recommend soul wars as preferred way to train combat skills after lvl 40.

friends dont let friends prod. if you gotta powertrain, at least do it on regular monsters.

oh, and farming.

about the only money making advice you give is to range cows. that Is pretty killer, but really,

a way better method is to train farming and grow herbs. you can get 1-38 in 2-3 days easy, at 38 toadflax is good profit.

theres a few other issues i have, but im going to chill a while and try to put my thoughts down more coherently.
