What method are most people using to get 99 smithing now? Sc Hammers and addy plates seem too expensive now, is it still the best method or are people using another methods now? My estimated cost with sc hammers making addy plates is 87m just for 88-99.

Any other opinions?

Smelting+superheating gold ores seems to be the most cost efficient method right now, getting up to 130k smithing xp an hour. If you want more afk, but slower xp, addy bolts should still be goon enough, or even steel plates(the oldschool way). You should check out some efficiency spreadsheets to find the best method for you.

I would stick with gold smelting, in whichever form is most efficient for you. If you want, you can superheat while smelting without interrupting the action. If you want very fast, but far more expensive exp, you could straight up superheat gold ores. If you wanted to just smelt gold ore, you could viably do it getting 65k exp an hour and spend like 25m (assuming market prices and you sell gold bars when done). You could also check Grimy Bunyip's efficiency sheets.
