Understanding Junk Trading

Recommended Posts

So this week I will start a job that requires 12 hours a day. There just won't be anytime to play Runescape, so to make some extra cash while not playing by lending out my SGS. However everyone seems to be doing the junk trading. I know that junk is a way to get around a trade limit to get the trade to 'street value'. But what I'm not understanding is this, will the junk sell in the GE or will I have to wait days for it to sell, if it ever does? It doesn't seem beneficial to me if I cant turn it into GP.

Junk is something that won't sell on ge. Maple longbow (u) and poisoned arrows are some junks. Junk usually gives xp from getting it but is so common it is useless.

Edit: it is beneficial because when u trade 50k worth of junk, the other person has to put in 50k in cash higher

you obviously dont understand the lending system.

you lend out the sgs with junk you already have. junk you accumulate. you DONT buy junk then lend it out.... That makes no profit at all. pointless.

It's great you know what you're talking about rustiod. Everything you've said is 100% accurate a true.

That being said...your a [bleep]ing [bleep] douchebag, and none of your advice will ever (or should ever) be taken seriously because of it.

disregard good advice because the giver is a douche

THAT MAKES YOU A BETTER PERSON

I think I can put it better

junk is pointless value. If u make it urself, buy low, make it into something else so it has higher value and THEN sell.

If u buy a lot of rising items, people sell u junk so u can in turn sell the junk by lending

Another thing you COULD do, altho it doesnt profit much.

For lending, say you want to lend your SGS for 1m for 24 hours. Find out about some crashing junk, from like a merch clan that recently dumped.

Go into the ge for a buy offer and select the item, and put the price for 1m worth at mid price. And once you have the ammount that costs 1m at mid, change it to min and buy. So you spent 950k, and are able to "sell" it for 1m.

That method will only make 5% profit

The only way I ever accumulated junk was from other people and that way it just floats around like a cushion, bouncing back and forth in purchases, sales, and lends.

I typically would lend something out immediately to recash my junk.

I'd handle your situation by simply borrowing or buying something you want, but I'm not sure what that means for you if you already have an SGS lol.

Another way to reconvert junk into money for me was mobilising armies using the spoils of war option. I never really accumulated much of it.

You could also sell SGS and flip the results... 3% return on ~50m is still 1.5m.
