i have added a new route to barrows here's the pic:

the route is marked in red you just go and use the boat no quest needed except started nature's spirit. Enjoy. :)

Your route goes straight through impassable vine walls...

 

I've marked in green the huge block of impassable vines that exist:

 

North of them its all blocked by water, south the only way through is the windy path.

no it does'nt i'm using this route all the time just try it and you will see that you can get pass it :)

I'll look into it soon to confirm.

You are not credited yet because the map hasn't been changed yet, and I haven't heard of a confirmation from a crew member (or else I'd change it), and we're a bit busy with the Treasure Trail update. Please be patient, and when one of us gets some time, we'll check it out and credit you accordingly. Thanks for your patience.

Confirming some information here:

 

-You do not need any quest requirements to use the boat, correct?

-This means the route through the Mort'ton Maze is completely obsolete, correct?

Yes it is Cowman, there IS a small section missing in he large wall going down the swamp, so I would agree that the map you've drawn up is correct.

What I am thinking though:

 

-If you need Search of the Myreque for the boat, you don't need the route, because the traditional one is closer to the bank you'd probably use and there are presumably less ghasts you get attacked by (I only get hit once) since you spend less time above ground.

 

-If you DON'T need the quest, then the blue route is totally useless, because the red route is faster and also has no requirements

 

Also, we should probably add that Fairy Rings are now viable

Well with that new map you can easily append the text to say blue/red route can be used via walking from varrock, canafis or the cks fairy ring.

 

Anyway my quest hating friends inform me that the boat is indeed usable without the quest going too barrows atleast (none of them have checked but they all suspect that the npc guarding boat barrows end doesn't let you go bk other way without the quest)

So it's confirmed that you can take the boat TO barrows without the quest, but not back to the Swamp?

 

There is no use for the blue route anymore then.
