blakdragon39
For my next Iron or Steel Dragon task I'm considering maging them. I have about 20m I'm willing to spend. So far this is what I have in mind. I'd buy a Hexcrest (to be made into a Full Slayer Helm) and Staff of Light, and get chaos gaunts and use Fire Bolt. Does this sound like an alright plan? What kind of robes should I wear? If there's something comparable to Ahrim's that doesn't degrade, that would be good. Any other suggestions? Sir_Squab
Battle robes are awesome if you can get a hold of them. Also, I think you should cast air surge or water surge or fire wave. (In that order)As awesome as battle robes are, i think ahrims +fsh is better, as to get the effect you need to be wearing all 3 parts of the robes. If you dont want to get ahrims, then the next best thing is mystic.
Guy
Degradation is not really an issue TBH. 330k absolute max every 15 hours, but at your smithing level it would be cheaper. It's not a pain, so I'd just go with Ahrims. RIP TET "That which does not kill us makes us stronger." - Friedrich Nietzsche

blakdragon39
Okay so FSH, SOL, Ahrims, and one of those spells? No need for chaos gauntlets I suppose then. Think I'll give it a try next time. :)
Knight_Zaros
Check the prices for the various surges you can do compared to firewave. Do the most economical one. Aiel
I don't think earth or water surge are ever worth it over air surge terms of economics. Earth+water runes are just too damn expensive. DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers ringsQBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow partsCR vs. CLS threads always turn into discussions about penis size....It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty). All_Is_Great
I would also recommend slayer dart over fire wave, because with a SOL, you can use slayer dart. Slayer dart maxes at 100+mage level, while fire wave maxes at 200. I don't know your mage level, but if it's high, then slayer dart is pretty cheap and good. DarkerFalz
I'm just using fire bolt there, at 81 mage, and it's going pretty well.I get ~3 kills per anti fire dose, with ahrim's hood+top, and dagonhai bottom (sol, god cape, glory, chaos gaunts, seers ring, mystic boots, anti drag shield).
