Sesquialtera
I just have to let this out: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay, I feel a little better. :) I've attempted the fight cave more than a dozen times now. Through trial and error, I finally came up with a setup that seems to work for me, and have made it to Jad ever since, without much trouble. Once I figured out my setup/strategy (ranged all the way), I can make it to the healers, and then I always proceed to totally lose my control of the situation! I keep freaking out and trying to take care of everything at once, I guess, and then don't watch Jad as closely as I should. I've gotten way better at switching prayers when the healers are NOT there, but haven't made it past them yet. It is so frustrating! I've spent countless hours working my way through all of the waves, just to die at Jad AGAIN...I'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever get that stupid cape. The rest of the waves are getting really old and time-consuming (AND resource-consuming!). Same sort of thing with Nomad: he's the only thing standing in the way of being able to wear my quest cape again...and I generally make it halfway through him before I'm brutally murdered. :wall: I guess the only way to *really* be good at this game is to be able to switch/multi-task...and have some good luck once in a while. Sesquialtera
Thanks. :) I probably shouldn't have posted *right* after I died, but oh well. I'm sure I'll try again...and again...and some more. ;)
Obtaurian
Things like that can be hard to "train" yourself to do. With Jad, YOU MUST KEEP CALM. If you don't stay calm, you'll screw up and probably die. You could also try using void range with eagle eye and a Karil's xbow to get through the waves really fast. That way you wont feel as bad if you mess up at Jad again. It would also be possible to outhit the healers using that gear, but your ranged level might be too low to do it effectively. Anyway, nerves are everything. If you're calm and cool, you're more likely to succeed. EDIT: Another option is to train slayer and only attempt Jad when you get a Tzhaar task. That way you can use a full slayer helm for even more of an advantage, and even if you fail you'll have some slayer exp. To put it bluntly, [bleep] off. Oh, I can't believe I hadn't thought of the slayer task idea...that might be a good option for me. :) You think Karil's xbow would be best? I've been using crystal bows. Here's the rest of my setup, too: Verac's helm, god cloak & stole (for prayer bonus), Arma chest, Verac's skirt, snakeskin boots, archer ring. Dragonlordjl
If all else fails, get your prayer up to where you can use all three Deflect Curses. With deflects, you only really need to worry about three of the healers (less with a slayer helm and/or high ranged level). You will deflect back as much or more damage with most of Jad's attacks than one healer can restore. (I believe the healers restore 50 LP per healer every three seconds). Zaaps1
I believe there is such thing as "talent" in Runescape that allows some players to fell bosses with ease, while others are to struggle time and time again (like me) before being able to do it (I mean, Nomad took me 20+ trys at maxed melees, lol). Maybe you DO have talent for this stuff, but just have bad luck. I can't find any other explanation. Some people are just "gifted", I suppose, at boss killing. But, that's no reason to give up. It's all the more impressive if you beat Jad after multiple tries than if you breeze through it the first time, imo. It shows dedication and perseverance that not many people have, and that's a talent of your own you can brag about. There's one indisputable fact: It's not impossible. It may be a little harder for you than those kids who have 15 Fire Capes in their bank, but the ONLY WAY you won't beat Jad is if you give up. ~It's Super Effective! Quyneax
I think your second fire cape will be a lot easier. Since I did Nomad I think I'll be able to take him again without trouble, but Jad still seems way too hard for me. As for setup: you could try meleeing everything except the 180's, 360's and Jad, it's slightly faster I think (and afkish during the first waves).
