Zammy God war boss

Featured Replies

I have 99s in all melee stats but i have never been much of a monster hunter i dont want to "pro" hunt but i am interested in trying out the Zammy god wars boss i will be using rocktails as food and a super set of att str and def pots. My normal set up for the god wars dung is sara plate, bandos tassets, fury ammy, whip and zammy god book HitPoints(constitution) cape, dragon boots my question is how many prayer pots/ should i bring and should i expect to get more then 2 solo kills per trip? Or should i switch the whip/zammy book combo for bandos GS and zammy skirt set up? I can also bring a terror bird for extra food. Im new to boss hunting but i refuse to use sara brews as food so dont waste your time telling me i have to use them....(im DIY kinda guy and making those pots is too costly)

Maybe try to read a monster killing guide on the bosses you wanna defeat. These have the most thorough details. And btw, if you refuse to make/use sara brews it's like refusing to get more solo kills a trip. The cost for the brews will eventually be eliminated once you get a drop.

My lame drops:
6 Effigys
1 D Med - 1 D Dagger
1 Verac's Helmet - 1 Guthan's Platebody

Yes they would get paid for if i continued to kill the boss over and over but im not planning on doing that...Im planning to kill a few for fun and then i might not come back for months so i have no wish to "waste" 100k+ on something im only going to try out for maybe 2 to 5 trips.

100k really isn't that much though. If I were you, I would spend 100k-200k on brews, try it out and whatever you don't use you can always resell.

Finally on here to update that I have officially quit! It's been fun.

Might i suggest a gear change?

Verac's Helm

Sara d'hide top

Verac Skirt

Dragon boots / Inf boots

Barrows gloves

Zamorak Cape(MA)

BGS

RoL

*notes* Sara d'hide top will protect from sara enemies while also giving a mage def boost ( DONT underestimate the mage minion he can be a major pain in the rear and cost you a lot of health) and Zamorak cape will protect from zamorak enemies while also providing some extra made defence and pray boost.

With this setup i can get a fair few kills per trip before having to bank. Some might dissagree with me but this is my own personal setup for solo zammy and so far i've gotten a few spears, several steam b-staffs, and 2 zammy hilts (1 solo 1 duo). K'ril's ability to hit through pray for easy up to 500 will destory u if ur not ready.

Spikestr1ke.png

you need mage defence.

When I tank for Zammy teams, I wear

Verac Helm

Fury

Karil top

Karil Skit

D boots

Fire cape

Rapier

Barrows gloves

DFS

Seers ring

I also use SGS as my spec weapon, but I'm not sure if Claws would be better for soloing. SGS is a good zammy tank weapon as it acts as a cushion for his Slam attack.

As for a zammy item (the only item you need for Zammy godwars), just equip a zamorak arrow. It wastes no space that way then. Just us protection from mage when you first get in. Usually all the saradomin warriers are already fighting, same with the mages, so that just leaves the Priest usually to attack you. Get your KC on Imps/Werewolves in the zamorak area, making use of your SGS specs as much as possible before you go in so you have some prayer points to start with.

Now I'll be straight with you, Solo Zamorak isn't exactly the safest thing to do. K'ril has a special ability where he "slams through you protection prayers leaving you feeling drained". He basically hits 400-500 on you, and halves your prayer points when he does this. After this happens, when you need to eat, I recommend running under him so that he is not attacking you while you eat. Make sure to always keep your HP about 700. As a slam and a few lucky minion hits could easily kill you at anything lower.

I've never even attempted to Solo zammy, so I really don't know what an inventory would look like...but here goes...

Since you don't like Brews

1 Overload > 1 ext atk/str > a super atk/str

1 anti-poison ++ > other anti-poisons

4 Super restores > Prayer potions

SGS

one click teleport

rest rocktails

So is having high magic def then praying melee protect the way to go?

I dont have all of those items:

Verac Helm

Fury

Karil top

Karil Skit

D boots

Fire cape <--dont have

Rapier<--- dont have

Barrows gloves<---- dont have

DFS<--- dont have

Seers ring<--- dont have could buy if its really needed

The T bird is the best i could bring my summoning is really low (level 57)

I want to go after the Zammy god becuase it seems to be the least crowded and the best to have a chance to solo.

Soul wars cape > Ardougne 3 cape > Skill cape

Godsword/whip

Dragon gloves > rune gloves > don't bother

Obsidian shield/Rune defender

Berserker or Warriors ring are ok if you have them. You might also consider a Ring of life since it's solo, and first time

And this is what seperates the Pros from the Noobs.

If you won't use brews, and don't know how to kill the boss, then don't go to GWD solo.

Don't forget your antipoision, and since you are going to die, have someone to bless your grave.

I'm confused, if you just want to get "a few kills for fun" whats the point of making a thread at all? Maybe I'm being negative but whats the point in asking for advice if you insist on rejecting the most efficient gear/supplies?

ps to the above poster if he doesn't have barrows gloves i'll bet 1,000gp that he doesn't have dragon gloves.

Because some people play runescape for fun... I dont have dragon gloves i use a regen bracelet. I hate quests and cant be bothered to do many of them because i dont enjoy questing(refer back to the I PLAY RUNESCAPE FOR FUN) The point of making the thread is that most guides are based on the assumption that the person reading the guide has 99 everything and has all the best equipment for every slot and will be using maxed setups, but for many players thats not the case, so most of whats in a guide is not very helpful. As i said before i play for fun and i want to try out part of the game for fun I make the super pots ill use and fish and cook the rocktails(slowly as I collect herbs ill one day make extremes but right now I cant) ... Again i play for fun some people still do that its not all about efficiency and maximum xp/cash gain per hour for some of us.

Sorry for the double post but i had to respond to your post personally my name is everyonedies because its a game and i die alot just like most of the other players do, it makes the game fun and a little exciting makes you spend the next few weeks making money to buy back the millions you lose if you cant get back to your grave. ( i have lost 3 bandos GS since they came out lol) Refer to other post about playing for fun without maxed everything as far as pros and noobs go...
