rocko510
So I want to mage steel/iron drags.... First) I need equipment:I have 17.5M but I don't want to spend it all and I have no mage equipment except for robes from WGS. Here is what I'm thinking: -farseer helm-Ahrim top-Ahrin bottom-Infinity Boots-Sara cape-Barrows Gloves-Staff of Light-Anti-Dragon Shield-glory(not buying fury)-Ring of life(I lagg) Second) What invortory? Third) What Spell would be most effecive( I don't mind the high amount of runes needed since I enjoy rcing and have 77) Lastly) Should I keep or bury drag bones while fighting? Thanks! :D 99 Cooking Since 10/19/10|99 Magic Since 2/13/11|Quest Cape Since April 2011
Serpent Eye
As far as invent goes, I just bring 5 Antifire potions, plus enough runes for x10 casts per dragon. You could also bring a war tort or some other BOB to collect dragon bones; once your BOB is filled, maybe bury the rest of those?

DarkerFalz
When I was killing them (78-82 magic), I used 1 anti fire dose for 3 dragons using bolt, and 1 dose every 4 dragons using wave. Also, I found fire bolt to be the most effective, primarily because you had more casts per dragon in which you could profit from the bones (40, as opposed to 10 from wave). svs
Before all the fancy mage gear i leveled my magic mostly on steels and irons.I noticed that steels have slightly lesser magic defence. And steels have a much better loot table, thus all in all it's best to kill steel dragons. Also as previously pointed out, chaos gaunlets with fire bolt and a staff of light is a really cheap and effictive way of training magic.Do bring some nature runes as well to high alch some dropsI wouldn't advise banking the bones, if you're out to make money you would make a bigger profit if you would afterwards go melee green dragons with a bob.Your summoning level is too low, thus you'll need additional pouches and or summoning potions. Knight_Zaros
If your going to be serious about this. Plan on three plus your trips. Take around 4000 casts, and alchemy runes of course. Take the best beast of burden you can and as you are getting ready to leave you fill it up with bones. I always used highest level fire spell. But once you can surge and with staff of light you may want to consider doing wind, water, then earth as you progress to fire surge. Got 75-99 at metals and loved it! Got 75-99 at metals and loved it! 1) do surges still make a trip profitable?2) I did 3 trips today where I kept all the bones and banked when I was full, w/out bob. Is this what your refering to but with a bob or do u mean fight until I get low on supplies then start collecting bones? Also, should I use the frozen fortress drag spawn bc brimhaven steel are almost never avalable? 99 Cooking Since 10/19/10|99 Magic Since 2/13/11|Quest Cape Since April 2011
Hegelstad
When i was killing iron dragons yesterday, none of the steels at brimhaven was taken. So it probably depends on which world you're on ;-) Might be faster banking at the fortress though, you decide My lame drops:6 Effigys1 D Med - 1 D Dagger1 Verac's Helmet - 1 Guthan's Platebody
Knight_Zaros
I went to metals with the knowledge that I was paying for mom click intensive magic training. With all the ways to make money today you should have no problems earning any minimum profit loss at metals. That being said I made long trips with twelve plus antifire pots. Loaded up a bob and inventory on bones when I was running lower on pots. Either way you do it take a beast of burden. Even the terrorbird or whatever the first one is worth it.
