Serpent Eye
GLEE: Season 2 The Season 2 premier of Fox's hit musical-comedy series Glee started this Tuesday, September 21, 2010! Season 2 is set to follow the Glee kids as they prepare for regional, sectional, and finally national show-choir competitions (in New York City!) throughout the year. For those of you who may be unfamiliar with the show, Glee focuses on the high school show-choir (aka a "glee club") at William McKinley High School in Lima, Ohio. In the Pilot episode of Season 1, we learn that the previous Glee club teacher is fired from his position, and Will Schuester - also the school's Spanish teacher - steps in to fill the position, as he himself used to be in the glee club when he was a student at McKinley High. The Glee club members are a mish-mash of styles, looks, and voices, and while all are exceedingly talented, they are relentlessly hazed (typical of high school, right?) for being the outcasts and misfits of the school. The show is hugely successful because it shows that it is okay to be different, and that everyone is special in their own way, no matter what, and we should celebrate our diversity. (Oh, yeah... it's also laugh-out-loud funny, the cast is great, and of course the musical numbers are amazing.) Season 2 looks to be as amazing and hilarious as the first season was, and as a fellow "Gleek," I'm really looking forward to following along with the old (and new!) cast of characters! From the get-go, we are introduced to one of Season 2's three new characters, Shannon Beiste, the school's new female! football coach. Principle Figgins let's Sue and Will know that both the Cheerios and the Glee club will be undergoing budget cuts (Sorry, Sue! Say goodbye to your confetti cannons) in order to better-fund the athletic department. Meanwhile, after their loss at Regionals the previous year, it is up to the Glee kids to find new recruits to join the club, in an effort to secure themselves a place at Nationals this year, which will be held in New York City! Rachel discovers a foreign-exchange student named Sunshine Corazon, who proves to have an amazing voice, leading to Rachel feeling that her "spotlight" will be taken away if Sunshine joins the Glee club. Likewise, Finn meets a new transfer student -- named Sam Evans -- who has joined the football team. Finn overhears Sam singing in the locker-room shower (exactly the same way that Finn was discovered) and he's got a great voice as well. (As a random side-note, before he even spoke, I was pretty confident that we'll eventually find out that Sam is gay, and that there will be some crazy loveplot between him and Kurt... dun dun duuuuuuuuuuuuun.) As far as my actual thoughts on the new season go, I AM STILL IN LOVE. I watched it online on Hulu at like 5:00AM, and was laughing to myself in the dark of my bedroom. :c While ultimately it seems that Beiste and Mr. Schuester have made amends after the rocky beginning they had, I'm pretty sure that the "Beast" will end up being even more mean that Sue is... ...and that she'll give both Sue and Will a run for their money. I'm interested to see how the two new Glee kids turn out. Sunshine and Sam both have amazing voices, although it annoys me that Sam's voice (like Finn's) is a touch, uh... auto-tuned, I guess? Most noticeably when they both go up for the high notes. I was laughing the entire time during this episode... some of the quotes are over-the-top, LOL. <3: Brittany: People thought I went on vacation, but actually I spent the summer lost in the sewers. (when asked how her summer was) Sue Sylvester: Hey, why so glum, William? Cat crap in your coffee? Or are you worried no one's signing up for your little club there? Will Schuester: Ah, not at all, Sue! National's are in New York City this year! I think that list is gonna be filled up in no time.Sue: You know what your problem is? "No Tryouts; Just Sign Up." Nobody wants to be part of a club that just anyone can join. See this? Court summons... child endangerment; there's been a line of would-be Cheerios out there since late July. I guess they lost their humanity a little. One girl ate a pigeon, several others started worshiping a possum carcass as their Lord. That's how much they want to be Cheerios! Shannon Beiste: Do not get up in the Panther's business, lady. You're all coffee and no almond.Sue: That doesn't make any sense...- blah blah -Beiste: The Glee club?! You came in third last year and you're asking for more money? That's a steer with six teets and no oink! (Pig squeal noise)Sue: ...that doesn't make any sense...Will: ...what?[/hide]
indy500fan
Put "spoilers" in the topic title so that we don't have to use spoiler tags throughout. People shouldn't be stupid enough to check out a topic for a TV series and not expect to see spoilers for episodes that aired but for some reason they always complain. EDIT: I did like this season opener about the same as the last season. They set down lots of new character arcs some of which could be interesting but others not so much. Serpent Eye
The Schuester/Sylvester/Beiste dynamic could be good, but that's mostly because I like anything with Sylvester, she makes the show for me.From the way that they made it sound leading up to the season premier, one of the new characters was going to be a rival to both Sue and Will... so I'm not really buying the whole "kiss and make up" bit that Will and Beiste went through; I'm pretty sure in an episode or two she's going to turn around and stab him in the back, hopefully only figuratively. I'm also curious to see if Will will go back to pulling pranks with Sue or not... but I hope not; I don't like him being mean to people!
Saru Inc
Sam sounds like an overgrown justin beiber, a really generic gross voice. And yea, the dude is as gay as a rainbow christmas tree. and I'm a gay dude name Sam so I think I'd know best. Also: The beginning was beyond hilarious, Sunshine was like.... Dear god go with gaga !!!! Overall, if the season 2 episodes are all like this, I'll love this show so much more. I have all the 99s, and have been playing since 2001. AdamMonkey0
I thought that was an amazing episode  The asian chick was an amazing woman, loved both her songs, but the fact she left Glee for Vocal Adrenaline was... a stupid move <_< Hope she comes back That new coach, I lol'd. Definitely thought she was a man, but this is going to be amazing competition for Sue. Can't wait to see them fight. I hope she protects the Glee club like a tank so they actually win like they should this year or else
Shazarabbit
I just died and went to heaven. I love this show. Sadly it's post poned for three weeks in OZ due to the damn commonwealth games,, but I'll keep in touch with the episodes online. I'm curious about Voal Adrenaline's new coach i guess was the word. Does this mean no more Idina? I was hoping to maybe show Quinn wishing she had've kept little Beth. The part i'm dying for is Kurts boyfriend!! as well as the Rocky Horror episode! The highlight of the first episode was Sue walking in on Charice and Lea in the bathroom! Serpent Eye
My Thoughts on Episode 2[hide]I was somewhat... disappointed with this episode. It was really just them showing off the talent of the cast... nothing really furthered the plot lines much, we were briefly introduced to a new character (Emma's new boyfriend Carl, played by John Stamos). That being said, the musical numbers were amazing! They couldn't have picked a better person to showcase than Brittany's, especially since she's never really sang (except as backup) in the show before. She is an AMAZING dancer, a very good singer... and she really shone in this episode. The Kurt/Rachel stuff was kind of sweet, but not all that to swoon over. They kind of just reaffirmed their affection for each other. Nothing drastic. Most disappointing of all, we saw NOTHING of the new characters Sunshine or Sam. We saw Bieste only briefly, and she didn't interract with Sue or Will at all. Hopefully the third episode will be a bit meatier in content. Edit: Also! Just remembered something that really bothered me. A few of the lines were (what I thought to be) cheesy nods towards cheap internet video crazes. I.E., one of the Glee kids says something bad about Britney Spears, and she says "Leave Britney alone" to them, clearly a nod at the Chris Crocker video he released. Another one was, Rachel is undergoing some dental work, and as she's coming-to from the anesthesia, she says, "Is this real life?" just like that little kid Denny/Dennis, or whatever his name was... I thought them all to be a bit unnecessary, as they weren't really funny to me at all.[/hide] I'm curious about Vocal Adrenaline's new coach i guess was the word. Does this mean no more Idina? The highlight of the first episode was Sue walking in on Charice and Lea in the bathroom!Yep, they recast the part. The new Vocal Adrenaline coach will be played by a male actor named Cheyenne Jackson. However! Idina Menzel will be guest-starring in the new season, she's just no longer the coach of V.A. :) So at least we'll get to see/hear her again. (Kristin Chenoweth will also reprise her role as April Rhodes!) What I've also just learned is that Sue Sylvester's mom is going to be played by Carol Burnett!!@@!!@! I'm so anxious to see her in this part. :

I loved Santana's "Leave Britney Alone." Also her name being Brittany S Spears, although made me laugh, was extremely unnecessary. I also liked Brittany demanding more solo's. I mean, don't get me wrong, I did enjoy this episode, and there were quite a few incredibly funny moments (Sue talking about the "butt sweat stain," and Britney Spears being a "gateway drug") in the show... but really, all it did was give them an excuse to sing and dance, and show off Brittany's talents, who has up until now stood in the background. I really did like Britney Spears' (the real one!) cameo in the show. Her being in a Cheerio's costume was really random, haha, but I thought that it was well done. All of the horrible stuff she's gone through in the media, it was nice to finally see her portrayed in a normal, nice light on a TV show. One thing I did love, love, love about the episode is how closely and perfectly they matched her actual music videos! I was dying during the first number, where she's got the boa constrictor, and the red spandex suit that Britney wore in her "Oops!... I Did It Again" video! I was kind of bouncing in my seat like a little fanboy. -.- And I don't even LIKE Britney Spears' music that much.

Serpent Eye
My Thoughts on Episode 3[hide]FINALLY AN EPISODE WHERE STUFF ACTUALLY HAPPENED. My only complaint: They only BRIEFLY showed Sam in one football scene; otherwise, we didn't see ANYTHING of him, let alone hear him sing again. On top of this, there wasn't even mention of Sunshine. Why did they make a big hoopla about there being "THREE NEW CHARACTERS OMG OMG OMG" if they're only going to include Bieste regularily? Even if Sunshine left for Vocal Adrenaline, I still want to hear her sing. I really loved this episode. I was at first a little disappointed at Kurt for not agreeing to attend family night with his dad, Finn, and Finn's mom... it wasn't really enjoyable to see Kurt being so damn selfish. And then his dad went and had a heart attack! Ahhhhhh. :ohnoes: Now, I'm not really a religious person (at all, of any religion) nor do I believe in god, but this episode was really touching. It was a bit nice to see the Glee kids express their spirituality, since it's something they've never really mentioned in the show before (except for Quinn, Rachal and Puck [if only to try and get with Rachel...]) As for songs, I could have a. Done without Rachel singing "Papa, Can You Hear Me?" and b. CRIED LIKE A BABY when Kurt sang "I Want to Hold Your Hand." It was a little random to throw in a Beatles song, but his rendition was so amazing... I'm not even a fan of Kurt's voice, but this song was so touching and sad. TL;DR: Thanks, writers, for actually writing in some good content![/hide]

Serpent Eye
word. props for kurt. However, Rachael's voice was amazing in that song, dear GOD.Well, her voice is always flawless... I just hated the song I guess. It was pretty much the same for when she sang "...Baby One More Time." Amazing voice, but wasn't the right singer for the song. kaesi28
I LOVE this show! It so freakin' awesome. However I just really hope they focus onto Puck a little more and I just INSANELY love the new hip hop songs they are doing! it really got me interested and eager to watch the second episode. Sunshine/Charice is an amazing singer! I think the mix of showtunes/classics/current pop will be good for expanding the audience.
