About The Characters

Just a Noob

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Firey

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Firey is now a fully grown male dragon, and has married and gone off with Flare.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

He is allergic to the sound of "Free stuff plz" but doesn't like Noob armour, it gives him indigestion, a bit like us eating a can, tin and all. Unfortunatly the armour opener hasn't been invented yet...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

He has learnt to give rides... but before you ask, he isn't avaliable for charter!

 

 

 

Just don't be near him when he sneezes, you'll get boiling stuff on you, a chemical composition that dissolves most substances... trust me... I don't think it's a pleasant feeling.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Firey has a hellishly hot breath (well, he IS a dragon) , so be nice.

 

 

 

His favourite food is Curried Eggs (don't go near him for at least an hour afterwards).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Flame

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ember's twin, and was also dropped out of the sky gift-wrapped. Flame is Michaelp's new pet.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

When Flame and Ember get together, they're almost assuredly up to no good.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Flare

Ember dropped out of the sky gift-wrapped, and is surprisingly like both Firey his Flare (Firey's wife)... I wonder why that might be...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ember has a nasty sense of humour, in which themrb finds himself in too much for his liking. Ember is also a pyromaniac, and finds great satisfaction and entertainment from setting things on fire. Once again, themrb finds himself on fire too much for his liking.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ember appears in 'Ember', 'Flame' and 'TheReturnOfFirey'.

Surely people, you could've given me a better welcome to the forums than this.

Almost every story I bothered reading where pretty much all the same. In them, some "noob" would ask/do you something, then your dragon would burn them. Not only is it not funny, it uses rhq buddies :?

and yes, buddies are primitive. they involve little or no shading, the same bodies and faces and lack creativity in all aspects. ok? check out some of the pro's work on here and u will see how blooming primitive they are

I didnt want to flame you, i thought you had much potential. However your refusal to move away from the buddies is not going to give you a warm welcome into this community.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The artists here pride themselves on originality and quality work. Buddies are an insult to the people that spend hours, sometimes days, working on one character for a sig. I have no idea how you can even begin to make a statement such as "Buddies are not primitive, just different". All buddies are the same. Changing the colour of the armour and adding a had does not make your buddy any different.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Using buddies is not a "graphic style". The style is pixel art and all you have done is copy and paste a few premade sprites

 

 

 

People have a problem with buddies because it takes all the skill and efford out of a pixel sig and undermines the whole artform.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Take my advice, drop the buddies anrt work on your own art. Its not as hard as it sounds once you get into it. This is only my 2nd ever isometric building and authough it took me a while it was far more rewarding than copy and pasting someone elses work and claiming it as my own.

I very much disagree with buddies being inferior.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

There is shading. It doesn't have loads of shading because buddies are only small, and any more shading would be overkill.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

There was a Buddy Kit that tried being larger and therefore allowing more detail and shading, but although it was fairly popular, it lacks the comicness of buddies and is a bit large for a lot of uses.

Nah, I'm making my own...

Don't expect a warm welcome for anything Buddy related here in Tipit since many people here like to see original work, and flaming isn't going help post them here peacefully.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Personally, although your story ideas are original, I see little technical work when it comes to creating your own art, and the stories would have been more appreciated if you had drawn your own characters. This being the Media board more than the Varrock Library, the weight tends to go toward the art instead of the story, and people expect to see original artwork - the purpose of this board.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

For comics like these, you don't need complex or fancy characters, simple shaped/shaded characters work great as long as the story with them is enjoyable, which is good because it means most people with little artistic talent can still draw funny comics. Just check newspaper comics, they got little to no shadin, the simplest shaped characters; yet their stories make it worth looking at their simplistic art. No need to use old premade work when you could try to make some.
