Low-Leveled Dg'ing: How exactly to get started?

Featured Replies

My zerker pure is going to become F2P in about two weeks, so i wanted to solo 64 DG'ing and get a Gravite 2H for F2P PKing, which is basically the only thing I'll be doing on him for the time being.

But, right now I'm only 21 dg and can only access up to floor 11, and I'm really at a loss for what floors i should rush/what ones i should do med. So i have a few questions...

What's the ratio of floors i should do c1 rushes/c6 meds? I was thinking about just doing them all c6 meds since they're all pretty similar in early floors. But I'd like clarity on what is the best EXP.

For higher floors too. For instance, if I'm 59 DG'ing, and can access floor 30, should i do my first 20 floors c1 rushes, and my last 10 c6 meds? Or my last 5? Or some other number?

Also, something that i've been wondering. Is it better to kill every monster when you're doing a c6 med?(I know you don't kill single 100+s for obvious reasons)

Or, should i just kill the ones required for guardian doors? I'm looking for which would be the most EXP efficient.

Binds. I know a weapon is a no-brainer. I have a gorg maul bound right now, and it performs pretty well. I know that the 2H is better for normal players, but as a zerker i can only train strength atm, so i have no use for the Technician class. Plus my attack is only 70, whilst my strength is 85.

With that aside, would a Katagon 2H perform better? Or should i stick with my maul?

And as for my second bind, i know that a SSH is the best, but until i get one, should i still bind my best plate? Even though my best is only a Fractite?

And lastly, my ammo bind. I only have 39 runecrafting, and I'm seriously considering raising that to 44 so i don't have the trouble of not being able to alch drops. But when if i do get 44, should i still bind natures? Or is there something a bit more useful? Atm i have the 125 zepp arrows they start you out with bound.

Thanks in advance for your answers ^.^

For very early I'd just C6 everything because, as you said, all the early floors give similar exp. When you get a few furnished floors, start C1ing most of the ice floors and only doing the couple highest ice and then the furnished. Move up from there.

Only kill GDs when soloing especially- clearing rooms takes much longer solo than with a group. Kill only what you absolutely must.

Alching drops is a straight waste of time- you should get plenty of cash from monster drops and chests. Law runes should absolutely be your ammo bind if you can't craft them, because teleports are extremely important for efficiently clearing dungeons.

As for your other binds, yes, platebody until hood. Also, get the best 2H you can, not because it has accurate, but because it has an aggressive slash AND crush style, meaning you can use berserker ring for two attack styles. You'll find as you dung more that most monsters are SEVERELY weak to one style, for example skeletons are weak to crush and zombies are weak to slash. You may even consider a spear until you get to abandoned floors, because a lot of the lower floor enemies are weak to stab, like giants. You also probably won't want to waste too many points on your ring upgrades early on, and the spear functions well without them.

Alright, thanks. Your advice on floors makes sense ^.^

But, i do have a few questions.

First of all, spear is completely out of the question for me, as I'm doing this on a zerker pure and cannot gain any defense EXP.

But, I'm comparing the stats between a Katagon 2H and a the gorg maul i have now. Gorg maul has 22 strength points over a katagon 2H, which allows for MUCH higher damage. Not to mention that it also has a massive crush bonus, overriding that of a Katagon 2H by almost 50 points. Is gaining a slash bonus when I'm going to be skipping a lot of mobs really worth it for these higher stats?

And I'm not really planning on upgrading my ring anymore. I might a bit maybe, for the skilling functions. But +11% damage bonus from the Berserk class is pretty good for so little tokens. But beyond that, I'm not sure if i want to upgrade it anymore until after i have my Gravite 2H.

Your goal should definitely be a gorgonite 2h, but yeah, I'd even swap it out for katagon until you can swing it. It's miserable trying to kill a monster with the wrong attack style- the difference is absurd. Good call on the spear though.

Problem is that gorg weps except for the maul takes 80 atk and I'm fairly certain zerkers keep it at 70 atk. It's certainly a tough choice, but the gorg maul may be superior in this case. While not having slash is definitely going to hurt you, I don't think it's worth dropping a metal type. 50 extra crush bonus and 22 strength is significant.

As for the OP, I think it's going to take a fair amount of playing to get from 21 to 64 dg in just 2 weeks. Don't get too hung up on any equipment you get if you end up dging in F2P later.

f2p cant have gorgonite weapons...

The once was a mexican called pepsi,

Or maybe it's just he had Hep C,

He was a pretty cool bro,

Bros generally are you know,

He hailed from the land of 'taters,

He was known to hate many-a-hater,

He likes a girl named Lacey,

His thoughts about her are kind of racy,

And also his dad likes to [rooster].

Good call. A fractite 2h is the best you can do, I think. Until then, you might consider binding maul + rapier to have all attack styles on agressive.
