Okay this is my first post on here ^^ don't troll me too hard. Anyway, I need some advice on training slayer and what gear I should use. I am currently using

Full Slayer Helm

Amulet Of Glory

Bandos Chest Plate

Bandos Tassets

D-boots

Ring of Wealth

Barrows Gloves

Blessed Spirit Shield

D-Scimmy

Now while I am training slayer I am also training strength (hence the d-scim) I am not switching the d-scim for a ss. Don't even suggest it. I also have a z-spear, rune defender and 3m or so in the bank to add on to this.

What I was thinking was to sell the spirit shield and use a rune defender, buy a zerker ring and replace the wealth with it, and save up for a fury.

I currently use duradal? (shilo guy) and I'm 83 slayer. I was going to switch to kuradal after 85 slayer. Do you guys think i should do that now or wait till 85? I pot on all tasks already. I am debating on using piety or not on my tasks, your comments will solve this for me. and I will post my stats for you all below. Basically I just want you guys to tell me what I should do with my gear and stuff. thanks :)

HP- 90

Att- 82

Str- 97

def- 75

range- 79

mage- 99

summ- 71

pray- 70

herby- 72

ohh and all suggestions will be nice. i just want some input.

Chaotic Rapier would obviously be the best weapon, definitely ditch the spirit sheild for the rune defender. Berserker ring is priority over bcp and tassets. My advice is switch to veracs bottoms sell tassets and get fury with the berserker for better str and pray bonus.

Full Slayer Helm - good

Amulet Of Glory - get a fury

Bandos Chest Plate - good

Bandos Tassets - sell this to afford other stuff, replace with verac's skirt

D-boots - good

Ring of Wealth - get a berserker ring

Barrows Gloves

Blessed Spirit Shield - sell this

D-Scimmy - sell this, use a saradomin sword if you aren't going to get a rapier

be sure to use piety and super sets 100% of the time

use kuradal now

The base slayer gear is as follows (alternatives in brackets):

  • [For all slayer monsters except those mentioned under other weapons] Chaotic rapier (whip)
  • Bandos body + legs (Verac's skirt with either fighter torso or proselyte top)
  • [Depending on prayer/accuracy needs] Fire cape/Soul Wars cape/Ardougne cloak 3
  • Barrows gloves (your best rfd gloves, at least rune)
  • Dragon boots (rune boots)
  • Amulet of fury (glory)
  • Rune defender
  • Berserker ring (i)/ferocious ring if slaying in Kuradal's Dungeon (berserker ring, warrior ring)
  • [Most important] Full slayer helmet.
  • [For magic defence on waterfiends/aquanites] Karil's top and bottom (black dragonhide body and chaps)
  • [Crush attacks to use on waterfiends] Chaotic maul (saradomin sword, zamorakian spear)
  • [stab attacks for higher-levelled dragons, when not using rapier] Zamorakian spear (leaf-bladed sword)
  • Task-specific items such as mirror shields, antifire shields/potions, elemental shields, rock hammers, crystal chimes
  • Cannon (optional, up to personal preference)

Slayer setups generally emphasise strength bonus, which increases the average damage of each succesful hit (slayer monsters usually having rather low defence, hitting is not a problem). Secondly, prayer bonus is important to keep the cost of prayer potions down (as you slay with piety on, to increase the speed of your kills. This is cost-effective and highly recommended). As a rule of thumb, +15 prayer bonus or above is good, but don't overdo it (anything above +25 is a waste). Defence and accuracy bonus are usually not fretted over (any defence bonus over 200 will do; if you get hit too often you should be using a protection prayer). Dagganoth, black demon, lesser demon, hellhound, bloodveld and spectre tasks should be cannoned, as it dramatically increases xp rates (although it costs a bit).

Some notes on gear: You'll want a fury and a berserker ring before you get bandos plate, and get that before tassets. You'll want accuracy bonus on higher-levelled dragons; if using stab attacks (which you should) you can use the Ardougne cloak 3 which provides you with +6 stab and +6 prayer bonus. Torso + sw cape and fire cape + proselyte are common cheap top/cape combinations; the former is better.

Some levels to get for slayer (in approximate order but I'm not sure on the summoning):

  • 68 summoning - bunyip
  • 81 dungeoneering (you need 2 million xp, which takes you to level 80, but allowing some tokens for the scroll of life) - rapier
  • 89 herblore (85 with a +4 stew boost) - extreme potions, superantifires
  • 95 prayer - turmoil and soul split
  • 88 summoning - unicorn
  • 96 herblore (91 with a +5 stew boost) - overload
  • 99 summoning - steel titan

I'm sure I missed something but this is most of it.

(this is my standard answer, might contain stuff you already knew)

As for Nomad, try this setup: elite void deflector, your new fury, snakeskin (ranger's would be better, but 18m) boots, borrowed acp, archer's ring, rune crossbow, acumulator. Use ruby bolts all the way, summon a kyatt when your tort is empty. Do NOT run out to face his clones, this will only waste health. You have approximately one minute to hide behind a pillar, take stuff out of your tort, drop vials, summon a kyatt (when the time is right). Your inventory should be something like 4 super restores, 6 restores, kyatt scrolls (100 is plenty) and the rest brews, tort full of brews.

Sell bcp and tassets, and buy fury, berserker ring, whip and verac's skirt.

Also buy a ton of ppots, get your hands on a proselyte body, and complete a task pietying, with a single inventory of pots.

Go ahead and start using Kuradal :)

Dragon drops: 82 (2 claws)

Dagannoth kings drops: 73

Barrows item count: 51

GWD drops: 54 (5 hilts: 1x bandos, 3x saradomin, 1x zamorak)

Whips: 4

Sigils: 1x spectral (FFA), 1x arcane (FFA)

Just wanted to point out that void bottom has higher mage def than black d'hide chaps.

And if you don't have claws, korasi's sword is a decent spec weapon. The sword is also good for metal dragons as it has slightly better stats than lbs. However the spab option is controlled, so depending on preferences lbs might be better for you.

[hide=A funny conversation]Me:Have u wondered how my brassard, which leaves my chest bare, give about the same def as ur pile of rocks?

Friend:Hahaha

Friend:Maybe you are just good at blocking with your shoulder?

Me:Ahahahahaha[/hide]Rare drops: 4 D legs, 1 D skirt

Barrows items: 2 Verac's helms, 1 Dhorak's Greataxe, 1 Dhorak's platelegs, 2 Karil's leathertops, 1 Karil's crossbow, 1 Guthan's chainskirt

Quest cape achieved 28 Dec, 2009, lost with Nomad's Requiem, re-obtained on 19 Mar 2010.

Fire cape achieved 1 Nov 2010.
