Fury or Arma Body?

If I sell my amulet of fury, I can buy the armadyl chestplate. I never melee and I only used ranged. Which would be better for general purposes? I really only ever train combat when I'm slaying.

Comparing glory + acp to fury + black hide top:

(listing only bonusus relevant to ranging)

43 vs. 40 ranged attack

59 vs. 70 stab defence

51 vs. 62 slash defence

64 vs. 75 crush defence

73 vs. 65 magic defence

60 vs. 70 ranged defence

55 vs. 70 summoning defence

4 vs. 5 prayer

 

It depends of course on what you do, but I'd go with acp, elite void deflector etc.

 

Edit, also at below: I agree with Kimberly that the amulet of fury is a very good item. I'd look into dungeoneering to get rigour/ccbow and frost dragons, as that would allow you to a) increase your damage output and b) make money for more gear.

Can't tell if you have Elite Void because your Adventure Log is private but for simplicity's sake let's say you do. Fury's kind of important to the ranger for the added prayer boost+attack, since most tasks you'll be using Eagle Eye/Rigour to get through them fast. Obviously, if you don't want to use those boosting prayers and you don't melee, that's a different story; in that case I'd say ditch it and pick up an Amulet of Ranging and the ACP instead.

 

But at the end of the day, I don't see the practicality in selling something so worthwhile to your play style to get another thing that's equally important. It's your choice.

I don't have void at the moment, do you think it would be better to just keep fury and wait until I have enough cash to get acp? I should be getting 99 fishing in a few days and I will probably have enough money after that.

Also, a (near) maxed void deflector + acp + rcbow setup always has higher dps than full armadyl + rcbow, the lower the defence of your target, the larger the difference. I highly recommend getting void. You can get a free elite top from The Void Stares Back. Unfortunately that's the piece you wouldn't be using half the time.

Well it doesn't really matter, but the Void quest before that gives you 40 pest points iirc, so that's nice. Of course you do want elite void eventually, as it is one of the few prayer-boosting pieces you have as a ranger (alerter or sw cape is always a dilemma...).

OP seems to be a range tank, I very much doubt he'd want to melee. And for ranging, karil's is only minimally better than black hide (in fact, only when tanking magic/ranged attacks).
