Cr48 Chrome Notebook

I was fortunate enough to get one in the mail today. Has anyone else here applied for or recieved one? What do you think about Chrome OS?

Due to parental problems I can't open it yet, but it's a cool box

Stupid US-only thing, I want one sooooooo much. Oh well, I applied anyway, they had a "Country" drop down. :-w

Looks good for people who want a netbook, but I can't see it catching on as a mainstream OS.

Is the 3G free for the "test drive"? Considering it seems pretty useless without it.

Applied to it 5 days ago, eager to know if i get selected. Gotta airmail it over to Norway tho' -.-

My lame drops:
6 Effigys
1 D Med - 1 D Dagger
1 Verac's Helmet - 1 Guthan's Platebody

I don't like the concept at all to be honest. It's cool, but severely flawed.

They don't let you know if you've made it, it just shows up in the mail. You get 100mb of 3G per month free (basically nothing).

I'm not sure about it yet, but it's free, so not much complaining on my part.

My main problem is a lack of Java support (facedesk). They are planning on updating this, though.

Otherwise, it's easy to use and a good netbook.

I'm typing this in a car going 60 miles an hour in the middle of Iowa - Verizon's 3G network is pretty nice. 100MB a month is barely anything though; I've checked my email and browsed TIF for less than 10 minutes with no images loaded and I'm already at 98MB left.

how long did it take to get it after you applied?

A little less than two weeks, I think. It was weird how I didn't get any kind of notice or confirmation about it.

I don't like the concept but I like free crap.
