Jagex Blows

Featured Replies

So here's my short story. I quit a few months ago because I had better things to do. Now I'm bored so I figured I'd play this a little bit. Not to my surprise I have forgotten my password. I probably just changed it and didn't write it down to prevent myself from playing again too because I even used software to find files deleted in my recycling bin and restore them but I didn't find any files that have the right password(awesome run on sentence?). Anyway this is why I'm mad:

I thought I could just go to password recovery and enter my recovery questions(at least I know all of them), previous passwords, and other info. Well it turns out if you don't answer every single damn box correctly they will not give you your password. I am 100% sure I got all of the recovery questions right. I know at least 2 of my previous passwords(it asks for 3), and most of the other details. I appealed and I got an email saying the reason it was denied was the previous passwords. Ok I'll try again. Next appeal denied for: Creation details. Ok appeal again, denied: Previous passwords... Well jagex you officially blow. Apparently I can fill in every single box but one and not get my damn password.

Oh and I appealed again with more likely to be accurate details like 6 hours ago without a response. The first three appeals only took 2 hours to receive an email.

Insert the visa card you used to purchase membership, and you get your account back in a breeze.

My lame drops:
6 Effigys
1 D Med - 1 D Dagger
1 Verac's Helmet - 1 Guthan's Platebody

Maybe lesson learned to always keep your password in case you decide to come back?

Yeah always keep a spare account details document on a notepad file or something similar in a place where you know no one else can access.

That way when you forget your account details you can always look back to it :D

By the way, the recovery questions are word-for-word, case sensitive, so maybe that's what you might have done wrong.

Good luck getting back your account.

Oddly enough the only thing I have written down are the recovery questions. It seems that they keep denying it for creation details.... Kind of hard to remember that when you created your account 6 years ago.

I don't know where I would do that.

I didnt bother reading it, you lost me at Jagex blows. Im guessing its either rage about the polls, something that is YOUR fault, or some of the other typical rage at jagex post threads here

I am fully aware that this is my fault. I was venting. Mainly because Jagex has made it so hard to recover your password even when you know 90% of the questions they ask.

You should read things instead of automatically assuming that it is a stupid topic. Or just don't post at all. I actually wonder why you found it necessary to post here if you said that you only read the title and nothing else. If you think you don't like something you should just move along instead of spewing your nonsense without thought.

If anyone is wondering how it's going(I'm sure almost nobody is but I'm bored) I just discovered that I can still use my old name before I changed the display name(Robert r1) and it asks for different things. It now asks for payment descriptions and a few other things. I've submitted an appeal under that name and I am currently waiting on the result. I have a good feeling about this one but I'm not getting my hopes up after 5 failed attempts before.

EDIT: It worked!!! Hell yeah, I'm back.

Welcome back! Glad to hear things worked out and hopefully your trials will serve as a warning to others to keep that info on hand, just in case.

Though I wonder what Jagex would do if someone hasn't changed their password 3 times?

Idk but apparently you need to remember what your original name was.

Of all of the annoying things Jagex does, they're actually really good at account recovery when you don't have complete information, so long as you keep plugging at it.

Also, welcome back! :D

Yes it actually wasn't as bad as I thought. Once you figure out that you MUST use your original name. You will never get your account back with your screen name.
